Who takes the top spot in the CFB preseason Amway Coaches Poll?

– [Announcer] Preseason
Amway Coaches Poll is here which means college football
is just around the corner. I’m Paul Myerberg of USA Today Sports and let’s dive in. Northwestern and Syracuse are really great at making the journalist
that you follow on Twitter, what about playing football? Northwestern’s an intriguing
team in the Big 10 West. Syracuse is a challenger to Clemson if you can call that in the ACC. There’s only one group of five
team in the preseason poll and it’s Central Florida, to really no surprise. They’ve been good under Scott Frost. They’ve been good under Josh Heupel. They’ll be good again in 2019. Whether that means that
they’ll actually compete for a spot in the College
Football Play-offs, wouldn’t bet on it. Texas A&M is one of those
really intriguing teams, Not just in 2019 but 2020, 2021 under Jimbo Fisher. At some point they will
compete for a national title. Won’t be in 2019 if only because they play Alabama, they play Clemson and they play Georgia
during the regular season. They could go nine and three or eight and four and be ranked in the Top 15 but they’re not gonna compete
for a spot in the Top 4. Michigan was picked by the
media to win The Big 10, believe it or not, even though they haven’t
done it under Jim Harbaugh, they haven’t beaten Ohio
State under Jim Harbaugh, they haven’t made the
College Football Playoff under Jim Harbaugh. Still they’re trendy for a reason, you like their senior
quarterback Shea Patterson, like the idea they’ll
be wide open on offense. Still you gotta beat Ohio State. We’ll find out in November. Clemson One. Alabama Two. Whether it’s January or it’s August this is what we’ve gotten used to. Clemson beat the tide by 28 points about seven months ago. They’ll probably meet again in January. I mean c’mon this is what
we’ve gotten used to. For right now it’s only fitting as we start the year, Clemson and Trevor Lawrence number one. Alabama and Tua Tagovaioloa at number two.
