Hi my name’s Ed. I studied Maths and Economics in Trinity and I’m an Analytics Analyst in Accenture. So, right now I’m on the client team and just working with client and working with my
line manager from Accenture but there are loads of other Accenture people on a
similar project there as well. The client space for Analytics – it ranges from Life Sciences to Financial Services and Retail. I went to some career events during college and I met a Management Consultant. He was really interesting guy –
he told me about what he was doing, the people he was meeting and how much he was learning. I kind of wanted to work with people like him. The skills that I bring to the role are
my analytical skills, my logical thinking, my numerical skills and my coding experience. It’s not a requirement for a huge technical knowledge like even if with no coding background – you can still come in, and if you’re willing to learn – like people are more than willing to help you. Accenture set up a lot of training for new Analysts. The new tools that I’ve been introduced to in Accenture are some visual analytics tools such as Tableau, Qlikview; and the more traditional coding tools such as SCALA, SPARK, SAS and Python. Like my most favorite thing about Accenture is the people. I find the Analytics community within Accenture is really tight-knit – like everyone’s very familiar with each other
