University of Minnesota System
The University of Minnesota. We are one system with five campuses,
extension offices, and centers, driven by a singular vision of excellence for Minnesota. In the Twin Cities, researchers and
students push into the next frontier. With windows that collect solar energy. With cancer treatments using patented gene delivery
technology to super charge the immune system. And robot technology screening for earlier autism detection. All the while embracing the personal.
As we apply music therapy to battle addiction. And train health practitioner students
and communities across the state. At Crookston, curiosity is key to learning. Whether it’s conducting a prescribed
burn aimed at prairie restoration or wading deeper into Minnesota waters, We seek to better understand our most precious resources. And work to get our students where they want to be. Accepted into veterinary school at four times the national rate. By taking learning beyond theory to as real as it gets. Or virtually through our renowned online learning. In Morris, we lead while we learn.
Finding local solutions to global problems. Partnering with local and international leaders to identify
and implement sustainable solutions in rural areas. Identifying health factors that contribute
to crash risk in the trucking industry. And working with our Center for Small Towns and rural
communities to address Minnesota’s opioid crisis. All at one of the nation’s best and
greenest public liberal arts colleges. In Rochester, we are empowering our graduates to
solve the grand health care challenges of the 21st century. Located in the heart of the medical world, we are
preparing undergraduate students for health science careers in one of the most medically innovative cities on the planet. 100% of health profession students in the educational
collaboration with Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences are employed in their field post-graduation. In Duluth, our civil engineering students are addressing the
needs of our aging infrastructure by going to the source to collect load distribution information to determine
how to best extend the serviceability of bridges. And up-cycling waste rock from northern Minnesota’s mining industry to formulate a superior pot hole patch. While using speech technology to capture the speech of ALS patients so they can continue to communicate in
their own voices well into the future. With Extension resources in every county,
we’ve trained hundreds of volunteers who monitor invasive species in more of our 10,000 lakes. As we break down food deserts with innovative transportation programs
that connect high quality Minnesota produce with small communities. And keeping 4H fresh for nearly 150,000 Minnesota youth. Learning the classics like livestock and cooking But also science, finance, leadership, and engineering. It’s clear that the University of Minnesota is more
than any one building, campus, or mascot. It’s a vibrant, forward-thinking community
reaching to all corners of our state. Training thinkers, communicators, doers for the challenges ahead. We are one system driven by a singular vision of excellence for Minnesota.
