Hey Class of 2023, just want to congratulate
you in the future and let you know while at Memphis, make sure you work hard, study first
and play second. Time management is key. Always study when you can, at least an hour
every day. Do not procrastinate. It is not fun. My words to you are to be yourself. You never had to fit in with nobody. Stay true to yourself and do your homework,
you will be good. Never give up. It is going to get hard but you can get through
it. Do not come dressed like you’re going to prom. Just study hard and try to keep your GPA up
,because once it falls, it is really hard to get back up. Think before you speak. Always put your best foot forward. Think before you act. Go to class every day and participate. Make connections with your professors because
it will be beneficial in the long run. All you freshman, y’all stay in school man,
keep a level head. You gonna get it. Get involved. Try to join as many clubs, activities, groups
as you can. Always believe in yourself. Always work hard and never doubt yourself
because you never know what you can do. Actually study, take the time to study, it
is worth it. Four years later, you’ll be like wow, all
that time was really worth it. Make sure that you balance everything, your
sleep, your classes, your studying habits, eating and getting some exercise. Nothing good ever happens after midnight,
except for studying because that is always beneficial.
