Hi! And Welcome incoming students to the University
of Houston. In this video you’ll learn everything you
need to know about attending your New Student Orientation or your Advising and Registration
for Transfers students. We are the orientation team and Anibal and
Katrina are on the second floor of Student Center South are going to tell you everything
you need to know before that day. Please make sure you take care of any holds
you may have prior to attending the orientation. Please pay for your orientation online through
your AccessUH account. For Bacterial Meningitis holds, please submit
the necessary paperwork online. For your TSI hold, please visit the website
and take all necessary steps. Although not a hold, for financial aid please
submit the necessary paperwork through AccessUH account or bring a physical copy with you
to speak with a financial aid advisor after your orientation ends. While your Math Placement test is also not
a hold, please take care of it before coming to orientation. The morning of your orientation will be your
final opportunity for you to change your major. If you will like to do so, after you check
in we will have advisors ready to help you with that process. Please make sure that you meet the requirements
for that intended major. For our Transfers students, thank you so much
for watching. Remember to take care of all your holds before
coming to orientation and the Orientation Team can’t wait to see you. Go Coogs! For Freshmen students, please continue watching
the video. When you check in, you will be given an access
card for your room at Cougar Village II. Here is Daisey to show you how to access your
room.. Hi! The key given to you will have the necessary
information to access your room. Alright, now let’s go drop off your luggage. You must swipe your card in order to enter
the building. Once inside, check your room key. It will either be marked N or S for North
or South. When you reach the elevator, swipe your card
to access your floor. There will be signs along the hallways to
lead you in the right direction. Once you arrive to your room, swipe your card,
enter the pin, which will be provided for you, followed by the pound key and then you’re
in. Once in the suite look at your key, it will have two letters. The first letter will tell you what room you’re assigned to A or B. The second letter will tell you which side of the room you’re assigned to A to the left and B to the right. Bedding will not be provided so make sure
to bring your XL Twin sheets, blankets, and a pillow. Pack cool and comfortable clothing for the
following day. Be sure to check the weather before hand in
order to pack the appropriate attire. Although you might not need them, make sure
to bring your essential electronics. Also, if you have yet to turn in all your
paperwork you should bring those as well. Lastly, don’t forget your towel and your
basic toiletries. Pack light but make sure you have all you
need. Make sure to leave all your belongings in
your room.Take only what you need, for you will not be returning until the end of the
day. Afterwards, leave Cougar Village II and head
