HONOR FOR TRINITY COLLEGE HEAD MEN’S SQUASH COACH PAUL ASSAIANTE. HE WILL BE INDUCTED INTO THE UNITED STATES SQUASH HALL OF FAME NEXT MONTH. ASSAIANTE HAS HAD QUITE A CAREER… IN 23 YEARS AT TRINITY HE’S WON 15 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS… YES—15! DURING ONE STRETCH HIS TEAMS WON 252 CONSECUTIVE MATCHES— A WINNING STREAK THAT IS UNMATCHED IN COLLEGIATE SPORTS. ASSAIANTE OBVIOUSLY THRILLED WITH THE NEWS BUT QUICK TO CREDIT OTHERS. 3 (( YOU KNOW IF YOU GO IN AS A PLAYER ITS ALL ABOUT YOU. BUT IF YOU GO IN AS A COACH, ITS ALL ABOUT THE PLAYERS. THE PLAYERS DO A GREAT JOB OF STAYING IN TOUCH AND ITS A FAMILY WE’VE CREATED THAT CULTURE. BASICALLY I’VE ASKED MOST OF THE BOYS THAT HAVE PLAYED HERE AND AT WEST POINT AND AT WILLIAMS WHERE I COACHED TO COME TO THE HALL OF FAME INDUCTION NOT TO HONOR ME BUT SO I CAN STAND UP AND THANK THEM.)) HIS RECORD AT TRINITY BY THE WAY—-403 WINS AND JUST 21 LOSSES…
