♫♫♫ Trent has a long history of research
in the water area. The Environmental Resource Studies Program
here has always had aquatic research as a centerpiece for the kind of teaching that
we do. And because of that we’ve had a number of faculty members over the years who’s research focuses on water. From a teaching perspective the location is
wonderful because we have the natural laboratory just outside of us. The water quality center started in 1997 and
since that time we’ve had about 20 million dollars of investment from the Federal and
Provincial Government and we’re just now on the verge of another expansion that would
be another 6.5 million dollars. Well as I said, I’m a farmer so a lot of my
free time is spent farming. But also boating, my farm’s just about a kilometer
from Buckhorn Lake so we often take our boat out and get out onto the lakes in the summer
time.
