Top 5 York University Transportation Tips | #YORK101 Navigating York

– Coming to York in September? Wondering how you’ll get back and forth to campus? – Don’t you worry. In this video, we’ll be showing you the ins and outs about transportation at York. Hi, lions. Welcome back to our #YORK101 summer series. I’m Kabi. – And I’m Mayu and in this week’s video, we’ll be giving you the top 5 York University transportation tips. So in no particular order, let’s get into it – The first way to get to York might be the most obvious and that is driving. Whether you’re driving yourself, or if someone else is driving you. You’ll be able to find all the directions you need on York’s maps and directions website. We’ll leave that link in the description box. York also offers lots of convenient Park options on the parking services website, you’ll be able to find daily parking rates yearly parking passes, accessible parking and motorcycle parking. You can even purchase over new parking passes online. We’ll leave all of that in the description box as well. – The second method to getting to York is cycling. If you’re with me for a more sustainable way to get to campus then you’ll be happy to know that York offers extensive cycling infrastructure from bike posts to bike lane to bike racks to secure storage spaces. We also have shower facility and do-it-yourself bike repair stations. So if you’d like to access any of these resources. Make sure to visit the link down below. – Our third way of getting to York is probably the most popular and that is public transit. Here at York, we’ve got so many options, We have the TTC buses and our subway system, Brampton Transit also known as Zum. We got GO transit and we have York Region Transit also known as VIVA. What transit service you choose, really depends on where you’re coming from. The transportation services website has extensive information about all of these public transit services and details about student discounts in case you’re trying to get a monthly Pass. All that information and all those links will be in the description box. – Fourth on our list is the York University transportation shuttle services. These services are actually unique to York because they’re dedicated to taking York University students, staff and members, all to any places on campus or near campus. The Keele Glendon shuttle actually transport students back and forth between the Keele and Glendon campuses. The York University GO train shuttle transport York University students staff and members all the way from Keele campus to the York University GO train station. And finally, VanGo is a mobility service initiative dedicated to take students and staff with accessibility needs to different places on campus.
