Top 5 reasons to choose Conestoga College

Top 5 reasons to choose Conestoga College

– Hi, Condors. My name’s Erika and I’m the
newest social media ambassador for Conestoga College. I’m enrolled in the
accounting degree program, or Bachelor of Business Administration. I’m beyond excited to begin
my college journey this fall and to take you along with me. Today I’ll be sharing the top five reasons why I chose Conestoga’s
accounting degree program. The first reason why I chose Conestoga’s
business degree program is the location as well
as the campus itself. I grew up in Kitchener, Waterloo and wished to stay close to home for my post-secondary education. Being a 45-minute drive away, the Doon campus is far enough
away, while still being close. After visiting the Doon campus
only a handful of times, I knew that Conestoga was
the right school for me. I highly recommend visiting
the campuses of the schools you choose to apply too in order to ensure that you feel comfortable
there and can see yourself spending the next one to four years there. For me, Conestoga is my home
for the next four years, and I’m more than confident
that I made the right choice. The second reason why I chose Conestoga’s
business degree program was the wide variety of
program options themselves. Conestoga offers a diverse
range of program options all at a broad range of levels. Whether it’s a certificate,
advance diploma, trades and apprenticeship
or a degree program, Conestoga has what you need
to reach your career goals and ultimately be successful. Conestoga’s programs are current, meet the ever-changing
demands of the job market and will equip you well for
the career of your dreams. Conestoga has both the
programs and courses available for you to meet your career goals. For me, the courses within
the BBA – Accounting, Audit and Information Technology
program do just that, they’re the right fit for me as well as my future career plans. For me, my career goal
after graduating Conestoga, would be to obtain my Chartered
Professional Accounting, or CPA designation. Conestoga’s accounting degree program allows me to do just that. The program meets the
prerequisite reguirements for the Chartered Professional Accountant, professional education program, which is a stepping stone on my way to earning my eventual designation. Career advancing designations as well as transfer
agreements between alternate colleges and universities are all possible with Conestoga’s furthering
eduction opportunities. The fourth reason why I chose Conestoga’s
business program is the faculty. Conestoga professors hold
extensive real-world experience. This brings a unique first-hand
view to the classroom. The hands-on rather than
strictly text book learning appealed to me as well
as my learning style. This ensures that you’ll
graduate with skills closely aligned with workforce demands and be successful in your future career. Conestoga’s motto reflects this, what you do here, counts out there. That really holds true
when you earn the skills rather than just the
knowledge that you need. The fifth, but certainly
not the least reason why I chose Conestoga’s
business degree program or just the degree programs
at Conestoga in general, is the integrated co-op work terms. Co-op programs add value to your education and allow you to apply what
you’ve learned in the classroom to the real world, so-to-speak. I took co-op when I was in high school and am now working at the exact
same placement this summer on a co-op work term. This is an excellent
opportunity for me to gain further experience in my
chosen field of accounting. My successful high school co-op experience added integrated co-op
to my checklist of things I was looking for in a college program. The BBA accoutning program at Conestoga offers two paid work terms. Different from other
schools, these work terms are integrated into the degree curriculum, and are mandatory to complete. Taking cooperative
education was undoubtedly one of the best decisions I
made in my high school career and I’m confident that it
will be at Conestoga as well. Thank you so much for watching Condors and I’ll see you at my next video.
