Originally I came in to the University
wanting to study chemical engineering I took the 101 course / advice from a
graduate student here at the optics department and when I took the course, I
started really enjoying optics I thought it was much more interesting than what
the chemical engineering department had to offer the community there within of
the universities of optics department seems so much more content
with what they were doing conducive to real real good relationships with your
professors. My first internship I got through my professors here, I asked her if we could find an internship abroad in Europe and she
had a contact at a company called to optic I was able to work for them for
the whole summer doing lens design during between my sophomore and
junior year I’d say optics is a very fun subject it’s very unique in the way it
approaches physics and math in the sense that it really applies both physics and
math to the real world into a very visual world.
