The Connecticut State Colleges & Universities (CSCU) President Mark Ojakian – Welcome 2018

Hi, I’m Mark Ojakian President of CSCU and I want
to welcome all of you to the 2018 fall semester! I know how hard you have worked to get this
point–whether it’s your first semester or your last–so congratulations. There are three things I want you to keep
in mind this year: One – Keep your mind open to learning wherever. Whether in classrooms, on sports teams, and
especially from your fellow students. Our students come from all over the state,
all over the world. It’s something unique about CSCU. Take this moment to learn about what you have
in common and your differences. It may be one of the most valuable experiences
you ever have. Listen, ask questions. You don’t have to know what you want to do
with the rest of your life but the more you learn the better your options. Second –I know many of you are working,
have families and are juggling real life responsibilities at the same time you’re taking classes. Not everyone can do that. You make us extremely proud and we are all
here to help you succeed. Especially the dedicated faculty and staff
on your campuses. Lastly – Enjoy this time! The people you meet, the lessons you learn,
and the memories you make will last a lifetime. If you have thoughts or concerns you’d like
to share–send me an email at [email protected] or tweet at me @CSCUnews. Good luck and I’ll see you throughout the
year! Music
