ERIC — GOOD EVENING AND THANKS FOR JOINING US FOR NEWS THREE AT SIX. TECHNICAL COLLEGES THROUGHOUT THE STATE COULD SEE CHANGES BASED ON GOVERNOR SCOTT WAKER’S SPENDING PLAN. SUSAN — VELENA JONES HAS MORE ON THE PROPOSED TUITION FREEZE FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS AND HOW STUDENTS ARE RESPONDING PAYING FOR COLLEGE ISNT CHEAP 1 SOTW1 45 DRIK: EXTREMELY HARD TO WORK FULL TIME WHILE GOING TO SCHOOL FULL TIME 2 VO TRACK A TECHINICAL COLLEGE STUDENTS – ON AVERAGE PAYS AROUND 45-HUNDRED DOLLARS A YEAR A PRICE THAT STUDENTS SAY IS GETTING HARDER TO PAY 2 SOTW3 45 ALFONZO BENITEZ FOR ME IT’S A LITTLE BIT CHALLENGING BECAUSE I DO NOT QUALIFY FOR FINANCIAL AID SO IT HAS TO COME OUT OF MY POCKET DIRK: IM ALREADY STRUGGLING TO PAY FOR COLLEGE AS IT IS , NOT HAVING IT INCREASE WOULD BE EXTREMELY IDEAL 3 VO TRACK UNDER GOVERNOR WALKERS BUDGET PROPOSAL— TECHINICAL COLLEGES STATEWIDE WOULD SEE A FREEZE IN TUITION FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS. 3 SOTW5 45 VELENA BRIDGE: WHILE YOU WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND A STUDENT WHO WANTS TO PAY MORE TUITION, AT MADISON COLLEGE THERE ARE VARYING OPINIONS ON THE AFFECTS OF A TUITION FREEZE 3 SOTW6 45 WENDY SHAVER STUDENT IT’S WAY TOO LATE. IT SHOULD’VE BEEN STOPPED A LONG TIME AGO. THE STUDENTS ARE THE ONES THAT ARE PRESENTING THE FUTURE FOR EVERYONE AND WE ARE GETTING HIT THE HARDEST ROSE MCBLACKWELL STUDENT 4 VO TRACK TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS IN REVENU THE GOVERNOR WOULD BUDGET 5-MILLION DOLLARS IN THE SECOND SCHOOL YEAR AND AN ADDITTIONAL 5 MILLION TO GO TOWARD GRANT FUNDING PROGRAMS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT- WHICH WOULD BE DEVELOPED BY TEHCNICAL COLLEGES. 4 SOTW8 44 I THINK IT’S A GOOD MIDDLE GROUND. I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE WANT FREE COLLEGE BUT THEN WE WOULD HAVE TO INCREASE TAXES AND I THINK THIS IS A GOOD MIDDLE GROUND VELENA — THE WISCONSIN TECHNICAL COLLEGE SYSTEM SAYS IT IS STILL ANALYZING THE DETAILS OF THE BUDGET. THE SYSTEM WOULD NOT COMMENT ON THE IMPACT THIS WOULD HAVE ON COLLEGES OR IF THE MONEY IS ENOUGH TO COVER THE LOSS IN REVENU FROM THE FREEZE. SUSAN — VELENA JONES REPORTING IN THE NEWS CENTER TONIGHT, THANK YOU.
