Study in Tec de Monterrey – International Student Experience
Hello, welcome to Monterrey Hello, welcome to Monterrey Hello, welcome to Monterrey Hello, welcome to Monterrey Welcome to Campus Monterrey I come from Honduras I’m from Argentina I´m from Brazil I am French I am from Iceland I am from Denmark I´m from Morocco from Hong Kong I am from South Korea I’m from Australia The first thing that comes to my mind when someone says “Mexico” is… Pyramids The warm weather Passionate and happiness I think about the diversity of their food Tacos The tradition, the culture Many of my friends told me “Oh, Mexico is a bit dangerous”. And then you see everything in the papers and the movies. I didn´t really know what to expect when I first came here. It´s so different, people are so nice. When I arrived in Monterrey I felt very safe. It really surpasses many of my expectations of a Latin American country here. I believe Mexican culture is a culture that is really enriching. The food is amazing. The art is incredible. I´m just discovering something new every day. Even though Monterrey is a big city, everybody is really hospitable. Mexican people are really open to receiving people, especially foreigners. People would ask: “Where are you from?” and “How are you doing?” and if they can be of any help in any way. They make you feel home all the time, which I think is very important when you´re far away. Tec de Monterrey was my university of choice mainly because of the prestige the university has. I really like here at the uni that I have so much interaction with my teachers. As a student here, you are respected and I feel you are listened to. The university is running a hundred percent all the year. Campus surprised me so much. You got pretty much everything here. The perfect word that would describe my experience in Mexico would be: magical. I think it´s a good experience to immerse in a completely new culture. It´s been pretty amazing, really. Pretty eye-opening and I´ve certainly enjoyed my time here. It´s been an incredible ride, it´s an adventure. I wanted to discover another culture and new people, to make new friends, to have a new family. Now I have a new family here in Mexico. It was a really positive and good experience. I´m happy I´m here and I love it.
