Study a PhD in the UK as an International Student at Leeds

Hola. I’m Vicente. I’m from Mexico. And I’m studying a PhD in
food science and nutrition here at the University of Leeds. From all the options
that I found, I realised that food science
and nutrition was the department that fits in what I’m interested
in and in all the research that I want to do I want to develop
a test where you can quantify and detect mycotoxins in food,
but in an easy and cheap way. After living in
Mexico City, I found a place that is really peaceful
that is smaller, but then also a university that is
really accessible. It was really helpful
and really good to know that a lot of the schools are
quite open for collaborating and for help in the research,
not only of their department, but also in general
the whole university. [? That ?] [? talks ?] a
lot about how the University of Leeds has this
mentality of a team. For professional
development here in Leeds, there are different
opportunities. For instance, I have this
conference in Malaysia for this bioscience conference. And I will be presenting
one poster based on my data that I did during my
first year of PhD. I would like to
encourage everybody that is interested in doing
a PhD here in Leeds to come. You develop really
good research, the opportunity to have
friends from different parts of the world, which is
really great as a student and as a person.
