(upbeat music) – What I like about my job
is to make customers happy and to get experience to
prepare for my future. – [Narrator] As an
international student attending Santa Rosa Junior College
you will be eligible for several categories of employment. – My dream here in the
United States is to become a doctor, and getting this job
here at Student Help Service is so important to get the first skills so I can be successful in the future. – I like my job because it’s
all about helping people, and I like helping people. – [Narrator] You can
work part-time on campus as soon as you begin school. – I think this job will
help me in the future because, for example, I did presentations in front of 1000
people, so I can learn like how to present it in front of those kind of like huge number of people. – What I like about my job
is be able to help students who are in crises or in need of help, and
deliver them a good service so they have leave here with a huge smile. – [Narrator] The friendly staff and the Student Employment office
will gladly assist you with on-campus job opportunities. – I find my job in the
list of job opening in Student Employment office. I just applied, permission record, and I got the job. – I found my job walking around on campus, a few people were out
doing health promotion, and they brought me over to
the clinic, and I applied. – [Narrator] Having a a job
on campus is a great way to gain valuable work experience, refine your communication
skills, and earn money. – This is my first job
in the United States and this job give me opportunity
to learn American culture, and work ethics as I improve my English. – This job will help me in the future as I plan to be a midwife. Being able to understand
and work with clients, and confidentiality, this job is perfect. – I like my job because
it helps me to communicate with people, and also I
have made so many friends. – I am majoring in
Business Administration, and here I’m learning customer
service and time management. – [Narrator] With prior authorization international students who
have completed at least one year of study can
find a job off campus, in a field directly
related to their major. – My job here at Humble
Community Preschool really ties in closely with my major. Everything I learn in class
is very closely related to what I do here. – [Narrator] CPT is an opportunity to gain real world work experience
while in school. Although it can be
challenging to balance classes and work, getting a job during college will give you a competitive
edge over students with no work experience. It will also make you more
attractive to future employers. – My major is Sustainable Agriculture, and this job is related with my major because I am planting seeds and later on people will take those
plants home and they will get food from them. – [Narrator] Once you have
completed your program of study, you can use what you’ve learned in SRJC classes by finding
a full-time job off campus. – Once I have my certificate
from JC, with this on on my resume, especially
working off campus, I will really be able to
go out in the workforce and find something that’s
