Scimago Journal and Country Rank (SJR). Ranking de revistas de Scopus

October 18, 2019 1 By Stanley Isaacs

Scimago Journal and Country Rank is a
platform that makes rankings of journals and countries on the basis of data
indexed in the Scopus database, produced by Elsevier, being a
obvious alternative to the Journal citation Report prepared from the data
of Web of Science. This ranking is ordered on the basis of the SJR, a
indicator constructed from a algorithm that evaluates the number of appointments
that each publication receives, having in mind the count the number of items you have
publishes each magazine and the origin of the appointments. On the main website of the platform,
we can choose between seeing the ranking of magazines or looking for a few
magazines in particular. The complete ranking can be filtered by
areas, by category and by country. We will see next to each title the
indication of the quartile it occupies in the selected category. If we click on some of the titles,
we access the complete data sheet which includes the quartile it has occupied in
the last few years in the different categories in which it is classified
that journal, as well as viewing graphs
with the data to observe the trends over the past few years or view the
complete data in table form. These same journal records,
is what you can access if you we use the journals search from
the main website. In this search engine, we can search for
both by journal titles and by the ISSN of the same or by the publisher.
For example, if we look for the magazine “Psychothema.”
we can see the journal’s file with its progression directly,
as well as the graphics and the data in full. Remember that to access resources
from home must be identify with the credentials
as explained in the section of our website “Access from
off-campus.” You can find more information about
indications of quality of publications on the website of the service of the
Advice for Accreditations and Sexennia of the library. Thank you for your attention!
