What I like most about attending Santa Rosa Junior College is the campus, the faculty, and the small class sizes. I’m
from China. I came to Santa Rosa Junior College, because I want to learn English
here. San Francisco, a world-class city with gorgeous scenery, thriving street
life, and great restaurants. One city I really enjoy is San Francisco I love
doing shopping there and having all the great food there. My favorite place will
be Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39. I think it’s a lot of fun. It’s got live music. Santa Rosa Junior College is just one hour north. We are located in
Northern California, home to Silicon Valley, Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe, wine country, and the Pacific coastline. International students come from all
over the world to study here. We work with you before you arrive in
California, and hold orientation once you get to campus. Santa Rosa Junior College
is a fantastic place to study. Our instructors are experts in their field,
they engage their students in the classroom, they refer them to many
resources we have on campus. We offer an ESL program to help students improve
their English skills. Santa Rosa Junior College has small classes and counseling
to help you successfully transfer to a university and earn a bachelor’s degree.
You will create a personal study plan, and our staff will make it easy for you
to apply and enroll. I’ve got all kinds of help from the international
counselors. The first time so I could get settled here. And then all the other
counselors helped me to pick out my classes and which ones were the best choice in
order to accomplish my degree. International students can apply for
scholarships at SRJC. We have the largest scholarship program of any single
community college in California. We have transfer agreements with four-year
universities and our students transfer to many universities in the United
States. UC Berkeley and UC Davis are our most popular UC transfer destinations.
I plan to transfer to a University of California campus. My career goal is to
earn a master’s degree in business and eventually return to Taiwan and open my
own financial service company. Students can complete the first two years of
their bachelor’s degree at SRJC and get a high quality education by taking the
same courses they would take at a university, but at a much lower cost. We
have two campuses, a state-of-the-art culinary center, and a 365-acre farm
outdoor learning laboratory. We offer more than 100 majors including business,
computer science, engineering, health occupations, hospitality, and wine studies.
SRJC is a great place to be because of its people, affordability, and academic
excellence. After my two years here at SRJC, I transferred to Cornell University
to study biology. I really think that Santa Rosa is a good place for
international students. It was a great transition for me to go there and then
transfer to Berkeley. Actually I graduated from UC Davis. I got a job at
Genentech. Genentech is a biopharmaceutical company where we make
drugs that treat various types of cancer. International students bring so
much to Santa Rosa Junior College because they bring their culture, their
values, their language. It just gives our students an opportunity to be exposed to
the world. It’s all part of what we are as a global society. What I like most
going to this institution is it’s just so friendly. People here, I’ve made
so many friends. In one week I had about four friends. You will find the campus is
an excellent place to study with state-of-the-art libraries and a
tutorial center where you can get individualized homework help. Students
can rent apartments within walking distance of the college or arrange a
homestay with a local family. The safe surrounding neighborhood has shops,
restaurants, public transportation, and other services. You will find everything
here for a successful learning experience. For more information about
