shenandoah university has nine residence halls for students funkhouser gore racey and Parker halls are typically residence halls for freshmen all residences are environmentally controlled for year-round comfort and include Wi-Fi all rooms include a bed typically twin extra long size a dresser a wardrobe or closet a desk and a desk chair additionally laundry is only 25 cents to wash and 25 cents to dry in all residence halls Funkhouser Hall remodeled in 2012 is conveniently right next door to Allen dining hall its double occupancy rooms are 180 square feet each floor has two community bathrooms and two community shower rooms Funkhouser is connected to Gore Hall by a beautiful modern Lobby featuring a gas fireplace and the eco-friendly green roof the double occupancy rooms in Gore Hall are 180 square feet and are grouped into suites with two rooms each each suite shares a private bathroom between its four students additionally all rooms have a sink in the room Racey Hall renovated in 2010 features double occupancy rooms that are approximately 180 square feet each floor has two conveniently located community bathrooms and two community shower rooms Parker Hall is divided into suites of two rooms and quads of four rooms each quad or suite shares a bathroom with two showers each room is about 240 square feet and include individual sinks just across the road from the Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre and the rest of campus is Edwards residential village this residence hall features a central common area with a grill and picnic tables for students to use it’s double and single occupancy rooms about 216 square feet and have full bathrooms dual occupancy rooms have extra long twin beds and single occupancy rooms have queen beds Edwards residential village also features a community kitchen available to all students who live in Edwards the University Inn is comprised entirely of double occupancy rooms each with a private bathroom the rooms are about 280 square feet it is available exclusively to sophomore and transfer students located near Shenandoah’s Shentel stadium East Campus Commons offers unique perks like a swimming pool and a fitness room for its residents it is available to junior and senior students all rooms both single and double occupancy have queen-size beds and private bathrooms a shuttle is available to take students to main campus which is less than a mile away next to east campus commons is Romine living center Romine has 24-7 quiet hours so it’s ideal for the most studious students all of Romine’s single rooms have private bathrooms and queen size beds and are approximately 210 square feet a unique living option for students aged 21 and older is Solenberger Hall this beautifully renovated 19th century building in Winchester’s historic downtown was converted to single double and quadruple occupancy apartments in 2011 every apartment includes a washer and dryer and all utilities the cost of the unit varies by the number of bedrooms and is billed through the residence student account so they can use financial aid to pay for their living expenses shenandoah university offers a variety of living options for its students whether it’s something in the heart of campus or an option that’s more independent there’s a residence hall ideally suited for every student’s needs
