My name is Eleena and I’m a student at QUT
studying Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Film, TV and New Media Production. What inspired me to study Film is watching
videos of people from rural areas where they need physical and financial needs and all
these messages cannot be spread around unless through videos I chose QUT because they offer
tonnes of hands on experience. I think it is really important as when you
go to the working world, this is what you need. Not just theories up in your head, you need
to know how to apply these in your skilled job as well. The best thing about this course is that we
have tonnes of fascinating facilities like the Film TV Studios, the cameras, the lighting,
the editing suites and all of these are available to students. As a part of my course, I did an internship
at Creative Industries Business Development team. I learnt how to produce a video, conduct interviews
and photo shooting for QUT. My supervisor was really kind; he made sure
that all of my objectives were met. One of my favourite places is the QUT Library. It’s quiet and cosy and has tonnes of DVD
collections for me to borrow if I need to reference a movie for my uni work. Brisbane is a very beautiful city to live
in. During the weekends you will see families
spending time with each other in the park. It’s something that you don’t see in Malaysia. If you are a creative person and if you are
very interested in studying Film, TV and New Media Production, this uni is perfect for
you.
