Preparing for your graduation day

Preparing for your graduation day

October 21, 2019 0 By Stanley Isaacs

Once the date and time of your Degree Congregation
is confirmed you will receive an email from the University asking you to begin your preparations
for the day. Firstly make sure you order your academic
dress – your robes, hood and hat. Ordering is easy – direct from our gown hire providers
Ede and Ravenscroft. You will collect your gowns on the day of your Degree Congregation.
Degree Congregations are formal occasions so graduands and guests are expected to dress
accordingly. Casual clothing and footwear is not deemed appropriate. Graduands mount
a short flight of stairs to be presented for their degree, so please wear suitable footwear.
While you are ordering your academic dress you also have the option to choose from a
range of photography packages, should you want to have formal photographs taken wearing
your gowns. Pre-ordering means you will get a fast-track service on the day – but you
can always choose and order on the day if you prefer. Our photographers are on campus
all day. Each graduand will receive their own ticket,
plus two guest tickets. These are guaranteed once you confirm your attendance and complete
your programme of study. Graduands sit in a specific numbered seat, guests can choose
from any spare seat in the Great Hall. Demand for tickets is always very high – any spare
tickets will be available on a first-come first-served basis when the Ticket Desk opens
for your Degree Congregation. Unfortunately we cannot reserve extra tickets for you in
advance. Should you, or any of your guests require
additional assistance in attending your Degree Congregation, then please visit our website
or contact our dedicated team.
