Hi, I’m Hannah I’m a postgraduate
researcher at the School of Dentistry at the University of Birmingham. I think the
main thing is that the research at the University of Birmingham is so
world-renowned you get to work with such a wide range of people within the School
of Dentistry ranging from clinicians all the way up to laboratory technicians
with a really extensive background in research and also you get to do a lot of
different multidisciplinary research ranging from cellular biology to
biomaterials and also you get a lot of freedom within the laboratory and so all
in all it’s a great place to be if you want to progress your career as a
researcher and with clinical applications in mind. My name is Samir
and I’m a postgraduate researcher in Biomaterial Science. The University of
Birmingham is one of the leading universities in the country and more
specifically the School of Dentistry where I’m currently based is 13 in the
world, it has outstanding research and teaching record which is one of the
reasons I chose to do my my postgraduate research here in Birmingham. Hi I’m
Rebecca I’m a postgraduate researcher at the University of Birmingham the quality
of teaching and supervision here is absolutely outstanding we’ve got a
multidisciplinary team available on hand for anything that we need there’s a
range of skills and experience from lots of different people that you can pull on
and everybody’s always available to help and support you. I couldn’t have asked
for about a supervisory team if I’m being perfectly honest I think that all
of my supervisors of challenge me in appropriate ways they’ve challenged me
to go for awards they’ve challenged me in terms of what experiments and what
kind of research areas I would like to go into without all of them I wouldn’t
progress my careers in my career in the way that I have done.
My name is Sharif I’m postgraduate research at the University of Birmingham
dental school but the research facilities in here are modern-day
top-notch facilities including imaging and analytical optical facilities which
enables any researcher to carry on his or her
it’s in more than one configuration. I think one of the main things I’ve
enjoyed the most about my studies here is the people that I’ve got the
opportunity to work with whether that’s the peers within my group all the
different things I’ve learned from all of those people and working with such a
diverse range of people from a range of nations and also the range of people
that I’ve been able to work with in terms of supervisory support so I’ve
worked with people that are multi award-winning scientists and with a
range of publications. Actually didn’t take me long to mingle I feel like home
in here because there are so many cultures involved and so many
backgrounds and not only on the students level but andö on the professors and
lecturers levels. I’ve enjoyed most working in an environment where I feel
thoroughly supported by both my peers and my supervisors as well as the
research technicians anything you need it’s not too much of an ask here there’s
an open-door policy as well as that we’ve got state-of-the-art facilities
which are absolutely fantastic. I did enjoy most the fact that there are
different scientists from different specialties which makes you research
interdisciplinary also the fact that there are different cultures in here
which makes the experience associate level much more fun. I think if you’re
interested in coming to an institute with an excellent reputation for both
teaching and research then you should definitely consider carrying out your
postgraduate studies at the University of Birmingham specifically the School of
Dentistry.
