My Westminster Story – Andrea from Peru
Hi, my name is Andrea. I chose the University of Westminster because it’s one of the best in London and because I liked the modules taught on my course right up until I graduate. I’m currently studying a degree in business with marketing. Westminster is an excellent university and one of the aspects that I’ve liked the most is the diversity. I’ve had the opportunity to meet people not only from the UK but also from many many other parts of the world which has allowed me to widen my knowledge and learn a little bit more about about each culture. It’s really easy to make new friends when everyone has new ideas to share. The University of Westminster offers you lots of opportunities to improve your CV and also gain personal experiences, like for example, to learn a new language, to travel to different places, and there are also many careers fairs, among many other things. As a first year student, I feel that from the moment I started, the teachers, the tutors and everyone in fact have always been there there trying to incentivise you, motivate you to take part in and make the most of these activities. London is an incredible city to study in because there are endless things to do, to see, to visit. One piece of advice that I can give to anyone wanting to study in the UK is to lose your fear. Fear of the language, fear of the culture. I know these are big and difficult barriers that at first can be tough, but with time you will adapt and everything after becomes much simpler. Don’t give up, because in the end, all the effort you put it now will have been worth it. From the moment you start, make the most of every opportunity available because you will remember these experiences for the rest of your life. Especially, if you’re studying in a new country and new city.
