Hi I’m Rick and I’m here to give you a tour of Minot State University. So come on, let’s get started. At the heart of the Student Center is the Beaver Dam a spacious lounge where you can curl up
with a cappuccino, shoot pool play shuffleboard watch your favorite
show on a twenty foot screen or simply chat with friends. The new
Beaver Creek Cafe offers an all you care to eat dining experience.
Here you’ll find daily grill specials the sauté station featuring
international and pasta selections, deli sandwiches, a soup and salad bar and
an authentic pizzeria for your favorite Starbucks brew visit
the Java Lodge in the student Center’s brightly lit atrium Barnes and Noble sells text books,
software, school supplies and Beaver gear. Another relaxing
gathering place is our multi-cultural center the Student Center also houses an
inviting area for Native American students where a computer lab, kitchen and study center help students feel
right at home. More students than ever before are choosing to live on campus
because it’s convenient, economical, and a great way to make
friends. First-year students live either in McCulloch Hall all males, or Cook Hall all females.
All residence halls are equipped with wireless internet, cable TV, rec rooms and laundry
facilities Once you have your freshman year under
your belt, your on campus housing options increase exponentially. Each hall has its own
personality, nearly all feature suites with kitchens
and living areas. Campus Heights Apartments and Pioneer
Hall provide apartment living for families and single students. One of the most
popular spots on campus is the brand new Wellness Center you can workout on the elliptical
machines, lift weights, get tips from your own personal trainer,
scale the thirty-foot climbing wall and involve yourself with intramural
activities. Minot State uni versity is a member of the NCAA D2 prestigious
Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Our athletic facilities are the envy of
the region from the 10,000 seat Dome to the new professional grade field turf at
Herb Parker Stadium to new workout centers for
student-athletes. Beaver Athletics include football, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, baseball softball, track and field, cross-country, golf, and women soccer in addition the
campus is home to the 2012 ACHA National Champion men’s club
hockey team and a competitive women’s club team.
Old Main a grand old building at the heart of campus has anchored the University for over 100
years. Inside you’ll find our fine performance venue Ann Nicole Nelson Hall, the music division,
college in business, Slaaten Learning Business Center, social
science division and the Center for Engaged Teaching and
Learning which gives first-year students additional academic support. Minot State University’s nationally recognized Communication Disorders Program is
located in Memorial Hall here highly qualified professors and
their students operate a speech and hearing clinic for
people of all ages. In the department of nursing’s clinical
simulation center students practice their skills on computerized simulated patients. MSU’s criminal justice,
addiction studies, social work, psychology, and special
education programs are also housed in Memorial Hall. If you major in art, broadcasting,
communication, theater, English, or a foreign language
you will spend a lot of time in Hartnett Hall. Swain Hall is home to the teacher
education and human performance department. Swain has high tech athletic training
equipment, a preschool and learning labs were future students
observe and work one-on-one with young people to gain hands-on experiences Cyrile Moore Science Center houses the
Division of Science. Here biology, chemistry, geosciences, and physics students assist professors with cutting-edge research and make scientific contributions through
their own projects. The Administration building is where you can take care of business, like talking to financial aid counselors,
registered for classes or paying tuition. Recruiters and
admissions staff are there to answer questions and can arrange for an on the ground campus tour for you. the math and computer science
departments are located in Model Hall Discover the Gordon B Olson Library as
this attractive building offers tech labs, study rooms, and a newly remodeled
commons area. With the size and comfort of our very
modern campus, you will get personal attention and have
the opportunity to really be engaged in your education. Our faculty will know you by name and
