The master’s degree in global affairs
has exceeded my expectations because it has challenged me in new ways to think
about knowledge production, but also to hold certain normative commitments at
the center of that production. I think that the most important part of my
experience here has been the ability to engage with classmates across many
different disciplines and countries. That’s also been my biggest source of
learning from the very people that I sit in the classroom with. When you get
everyone into a room and you listen to their perspectives, it is really
extraordinary, and I don’t know of many other environments where you could do
this. You leave the class with wonderful ideas and people sharing wonderful
moments. This program is definitely beyond my expectations. It really gives me a lot of intellectual growth. The Keough School has prepared me to use the skills, and everything that I’ve learned from all of these experiences over the past two years, for the greater good. And that’s something I’m excited about. Before coming here, I was working in
Chile, working in Spanish. Now I’m applying for jobs in Europe, and I’m applying for jobs in Mexico. I’m applying for jobs in the US, and I think in that sense
Keough broadened my horizons. The Keough School has been very life-changing for most
of us, and so I think every one of us would want to make the Keough school proud.
