McGill Residences – La Citadelle Tour

La Citadelle. The closest thing to the
lap of luxury you’ll get as a university student. Located at 410 Sherbrooke Street West and has about 286 students every
academic year. And did I mention it’s a converted hotel?
It’s McGill’s newest residence, having opened in 2012. All floors in La Citadelle are mixed gender.
Further, floor fellows live on their respective
floors meaning they’re just down the hall if you need them. Single and double rooms are available
all including beds, desks, dressers, lamps, drapes, mini fridges, a flat screen
television with cable, and AC and heating unit. La Citadelle has
private bathrooms, which means you’re only sharing with your room mate.
Now on to the common spaces. Just behind the lobby there’s a main common
area where council normally holds events. If
you need a breath of fresh air, Citadelle also has a wonderful terrace. And
if you’re looking to study, there’s a study room just up the stairs.
Another place students like to hang out is the 26th floor which boasts a huge communal kitchen.
Citadelle is also home to the Cuisine Living Learning Community which spends its time cooking, talking about
the social aspects of food, and of course eating. And if exercising is your
thing, be sure to check out Citadelle’s indoor
gym. Located only eight to ten minutes away from
campus, La Citadelle is clearly the perfect balance of community, style, and convenience.
