We did a project of what our life would be like in the year 2020 which was pretty cool kinda gave me some insight. To me
it’s really important to have an end pioint, finish line I need the finish line
because that’s how I push myself I’ll probably run the company I work at I
want to do this until I get a PHD and I can go to work for these people you have a clear precise plan to what you need to do and how you go about
doing it. How to be a student how to organize themselves how to
prioritize things I began to understand how to manage
my time I had to put things in order. I’m looking at this huge book and I
don’t know what I need to do. I’m picking
nursing now oh my gosh, there are six pages. What do I do? He set me down in a matter of five minutes and broke down every class that need to
take for my entire degree at I would have never been able to do
that so I had to be intimidated by the book I don’t have to stress each semester to go what
class is available. I just look at my planner my class is already chosen for me all I
have to do is click the button and I’m ready so I’m glad all my classes
from now until associates degree already
planned out You see the long lines of advisers at
each campus, and and then trying to get in and not knowing what question to ask, you feel kind of stupid I guess. So, working with that personal adviser and being able to know exactly where I’m
going it’s kept me motivated to still go through summer and then
pick up again in the fall and not take this breaks so easily to drop out telling us what the resources are campus what we
can do to help our weak spot He even broke down if your weak in one
area which teacher is best suited for you. I didn’t do everything at one time. I use my advisor more It opened my eyes to the whole college experience. I never thought
that I love college this way. It’s not as scary
as you think it is I know me and know when degree is suited for
me I’m not gonna waste my time at school. If I hadn’t taken this course, I don’t think I would have completed the semester as strongly. I probably would have taken the summer off and possibly not returned. It’s helping me because a lot of and I didn’t know. I was scared
that I was going to be the oldest person here I hear kids say ” I come to class because I see you here every day.” day It was life-changing, not just for school
but life changing. changing. I wish they had this when I went to
school before. I think I would have graduated a long time ago
and you never know if you go and talk to that instructor I have found out we became
good friends she explained things. I could call her.
actually I just graduated from Lonestar with 3.9 GPA when I went to college before I was
lucky if I had a 2.0 get the maximum benefit of being here
..how to prioritize things, how to organize what to study how to take notes you know
and and of course how to take responsibility
so that we don’t have 100% College enrollment, we also have 100
percent graduation a enrollment.
