Life at ASU’s Tempe campus | Arizona State University
It’s really cool that Tempe has the biggest campus because there’s always something going on, whether you have class at 7 a.m. or 7 p.m. I think it’s one of the most active places around. Playing sports, or you can go to the gym. There’s always something going on at all times throughout the day. Arizona State is one of those big, top-tier research schools. There’s a lot of opportunities for internships. There’s so many groups that you can get involved in. Hundreds. There’s international clubs, environmental clubs … I’ve had a couple classes that have like 20 kids, and you get to know the teacher really well. So the lectures … you’ll find all different types of people there. You can always learn from people after class, or through a teacher’s office hours. I feel like there’s a lot of resources to offer to the students. You can literally find anything you’d like to do. There are so many cool people around. Everyone’s willing to help. Everyone’s willing to offer a hand if you need help. I came here not really knowing anybody. I came here from the East Coast. I met a lot of people here from, you know, China, India … I have a friend from Spain. I have one from Dubai, one from Sri Lanka, a lot from California. It’s crazy to see how we’re all really alike even though we’re from different places. The feeling of school spirit is like overwhelming. It’s really cool. Football games are awesome. The atmosphere is incredible. You’re just excited to be a Sun Devil and be there on game day. People get really into it. We love it. We wouldn’t be anywhere else. As soon as the fireworks start, we get started. Tempe is great, it’s warm weather all the time. There’s a lot to do here. There are a lot of outdoor activities. You can go to “A” Mountain and hike. You can go to Papago Park and chill at the park. You can do paddle boats on the lake in Tempe. You can just walk. You can walk there. Gammage Auditorium, amazing Broadway shows that you know, most people are flying to New York to see that. Just hop right on over and maybe even get half-priced tickets. Living on campus is really cool. It’s more convenient when you live on campus. It’s nice to live on campus because you get the sense of community, especially if you’re a transfer student or a freshman. I love the amount of people and energy that we bring to this campus, the amount of different backgrounds that we have here. It’s always kind of like a sense of “Wow, I actually go to school here?” We’re all a big ASU family.
