Life as a Student at the University of Huddersfield

You’re probably wondering what
it’s like to study at the University of Huddersfield so
why not experience a day as me? *Alarm on Phone Rings* I’ve never been great at
getting up in the morning but being at University
keeps me motivated. I love my student accommodation,
there’s everything I need here. I have my own en-suite room
with a shared kitchen and living room area where I meet with
my friends and roommates. The modern campus is great and
there’s a real friendly buzz and sense of community as you
wander around the place. Also the University invested over
£95million so far on facilities since 2010. As for the lectures, well in 2016
the University of Huddersfield was rated first in England
for professionally qualified teaching staff, by the main
regulator for Universities in the UK, the Higher Education
Funding Council for England. The University’s Careers and
Employability Service supports international students by
providing a range of free services like one to one career
advise with a Careers Advisor and help with applying for
jobs and creating your own CV. The staff at the International
Office are very friendly and they can support you with applying
for a visa and immigration support. They also organise
international events and trips so you can make new
friends from across the world. Oh.. also, the University of
Huddersfield is ranked in the world’s top 150 universities
for international growth and proportion of international
students according to the Times Higher Education
Young University Rankings. To keep my mind and body
healthy, I also go to Team Hud, the University’s
sports centre with brand new gym equipment, studios
with daily fitness classes, squash courts,
and a big sports hall. There’s everything you need on
campus, with 10 restaurants and cafes including Starbucks and
Costa Coffee you will never be short of spaces to eat or to meet
your friends. Also, the town centre’s cafes and restaurants
are only a 10minute walk away. Now you’ve experienced it for yourself,
we hope to see you here soon.
