It’s On Us: Aquinas College PSA

~ Faint music plays~ One in five women, and one in sixteen men are sexually assaulted in college. Eight in ten survivors knew their attacker. Only two percent of incapacitated rape survivors reported sexual assault. 40% of survivors fear reprisal from there attacker. Only 13% of rape survivors report sexual assault. We believe this issue is paramount. We
are partnering across campus and beyond to end sexual assault. Consent is voluntary, mutual, and can be withdrawn at any time . Consent is not valid… …when there is force, intimidation, or coercion. Past consent does not mean current or future consent. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. It’s on us to identify situations where
sexual assault may occur. Its on us to intervene in situations where consent has not, or cannot be given. It’s on us to create an environment where sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported. Talk openly and honestly about sexual assault. Don’t be a bystander, get in the way and make a distraction! Never blame the victim It’s on us to stand up, and not stand by. It’s on us. Take care of each other… take care of this place. It’s on us, Aquinas. Take the pledge today.
