[Music] My name is Xiwen Wong. I’m Harjot. I am Mabel Bob Manuel. I’m Fahad Suwaidi. Hello, my name is Xi. Hi, my name is Denis. My name is Katrina Wong. My name is Bushra Alqudayri. My name is Sukhmani and I’m from Punjab, India. From Beijing, China. I’m from Ludhiana, India. I’m from Nigeria. I’m from United Arab Emirates. I’m from Taiyuan, China. I’m from Malaysia. I was born in Canada, but I was raised in
Singapore. And I’m from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. When I talk to my friends and family, the most frequent words that I
mention is embracing and a sense of belonging because I felt really
embraced and supported on campus. And we are given equal opportunities from
every aspect on campus life. When I talk to my friends and family
back home, the first thing I talk about is the beautiful campus and other things, friends
and people I meet here. They’re so loving and so welcoming. I just feel like a part of them, like I’m not from somewhere else. It’s my home. You can never miss your way in
University of Victoria. They’ll help you get to where you
wanna get to. They’ll help you explore your dreams. They’ll give you direction. Anybody you ask will always be there to
help you. The dedication from various staff member of
various faculties are just as beautiful as the campus is right now. Open. I’ve never actually bumped into anyone who’s
been very negative about where I come from or the question of my presence here or anything. They were happy. When I talk to my friends and family back
home, the most exciting thing I always mention is there’re so many opportunities
here in Canada, and so many great communities and amazing people that I can hang out with and develop friendship and
professional relationship with. And besides, there’s such a beautiful place and you cannot wish for a better place. Yeah trust me, you have to come here. It’s just beautiful. When I’m talking to my friends and family
back home in Singapore, I tell them that they would be severely envious of my time here
at UVic. I tell them everything that I do, all the
volunteering stuff that I do. And I wish I had a moment that they can see
my this life here and would be so proud of me that, their their daughter’s doing such wonderful work here I just don’t wanna leave here. I don’t want to. I’m grounded. Ohh, I tell them, please come join me here! You feel at home. I love it. [Music]
