International Student Vlog – Tsanimir – Computer Science
Hi my name is Tsanimir and I’m a final year computer science student at the University of Birmingham. I’m from Bulgaria originally and I’m going to take you on my adventures as an international student this week I am part of the Engineering and Physical Sciences College and I’ll be showing you all the fun things that I get to do this week and the maybe more academic not as fun things so strap in and get ready It is a cold November morning and I’m in Selly Oak now walking towards university you can see Old Joe in the background looks like a little tree I have lectures all morning and then in the afternoon I have a kick boxing lesson so hopefully I’ll be able to sneak you into that, exciting So this is Selly Park which is in the centre of Selly Oak. Selly Oak is the neighborhood where most students come and live after their first year so most students and international ones included would live in halls in first year plus they would move out to this neighborhood in second year as you can see it’s quite nice I’m walking in it’s where my kick boxing practice is going to happen University of Birmingham’s Guild of Students is one of the oldest in the country so it’s a place run by students and where most of the societies and student run groups happen hello everyone we’re in Computer Science again it’s an Applicant Visit Day today and this room will fill up with prospective applicants in a bit these are my fellow yellow t-shirt ambassadors. Tea and biscuits in the Computer Science building hello everyone we’re here in Computer Science and as Christmas is approaching there is a big Christmas party being organised for the Computer Science students some of my fellow course mates hello and in about half an hour this sort of room will be filled with Computer Science students just waiting for all these lovely mince pies yes that’s how they’re called. So for this Christmas party we will be having lots of free mince pies and also there’s some carols involved so they’ll be singing I have to apologise in advance for the singing that will commence. As advertised five minutes later and everyone’s ready for some mince pies It’s Friday finally it’s the end of term here at the University so this week has been really busy but I am really looking forward to the weekend and hopefully going to have a lot of fun. We’re in Birmingham city centre now we’re about to go to the German market and this is the ice rink right under the new Birmingham city library We’re in Grand Central now which is the newly opened mall on top of the Birmingham’s main train station Hi everyone so we’re at the end of our journey it’s Sunday quite late and I’m about to go bed so thank you so much for following me this week, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Goodnight.
