International Student Life at University of Tsukuba, Japan
In Tsukuba, we call it a “global university” where I can meet friends I can just join every event. You have a chance to stay with the foreign students to learn another culture and another language. I’m Boat. Actually, this is my nickname So, I’m a PhD student in the University of Tsukuba and I study in the Doctoral Program in Library, Information and Media Studies 24 years old and I come from Thailand, Bangkok. Three years ago I had a chance to intern in Japan in Kyushu, and then after the internship I just came back to Thailand and decided to come back here again because I love Japan, I fell in love with Japan. I decided to come here when I was doing my master degree. And then I graduated from Kyushu and then I just continue keep studying in PhD until now. *laughs* High industrial technology in terms of robotics and media arts and science I think it’s kind of a novelty in Japan so I chose Japan to study. My studies are kind of, media technology it’s like, computer science and combined with art Now my thesis project topic is about acoustic processing It’s my area type. like to conduct, or characterize sound in home theaters or the environment, in a room So now I keep studying about it Because I love music! From my opinion, I like the style of the perspective of the buildings the landscape, the scenery because I like to take pictures. Taking pictures need to be minimal style Yeah, that is kind of the landscape of Japan My experience in Japan. First thing, about the culture the culture of the people, their willingness, they’re kind, too kind for me. Yeah It’s the same situation in Thailand, we we bow we greet each other It’s very, how to say.. very intense so, my first experience about the culture is kind of a shock, but yeah, I can adapt my life and then… yeah, I have to survive *laughs* It’s also easy to study in Japan but you can do all we want. So, my daily routine, I for example, every morning I just wake up at like…9 or 10 and then I go to the lab to research some of the topic that I study and then sometimes I go to the library, and then if I have class I will just join, but the PhD life, there’s not much to the classes, it’s just like learning by myself yeah, it’s just kinda.. learning by doing, also. In Japan, we have to learn by ourselves almost everyone. Of course, I like taking pictures in the weekends or the holidays. Just go around and not even in Japan, but sometimes I have a chance I go visit my friends, or my family abroad. Firstly I just found the scholarship online, from the website, and then I just apply before I came to study in Tsukuba one year ago. and I think it’s enough budget to to spend life It’s very convenient. And then I think, nowadays there are lots of opportunities to find the scholarships and how to say… I think it’s easy to use a social network to find the chance I think you guys should find the dream, and then just grab it everywhere you can choose from social network from websites, and so on… Study abroad. Come along with effort passion, and an intellligent mind. So, I think it’s not easy to to reach your dreams, but it’s easy that you can do it, you can do it right now. For example, like my experience I study in Japan so I discover many experiences for example, like study, and culture, lifestyle…. I would reccomend you guys to come to Japan to experience and discover your dreams. See you!
