My name is Priscila, and I am from
Monterrey, Mexico. I studied Corporate Communications for
the minor in Business. I was originally going to move back to Mexico as soon as
I graduated but decided to stay because I really wanted to give back to a
community that had given so much to me, and now working for admissions, I get to
invite the students into the process. Baylor does an amazing job at connecting
students right away. I felt like it was family right away and that’s the reason
I didn’t want to leave because I loved it so much, and I felt like I belong here.
I decided to come here because of the community aspect and also a Christian
aspect where professors really do care about their students in a personal way
and not just so you can succeed academically but personally, how are
you doing as a person. It was a perfect opportunity for me to grow in my faith
when I got here and started listening different churches and that’s how I
started meeting people that are now my best friends. That’s where I feel like I
grew so much more personally. I am a completely different person from the
person that I got here freshman year, to when I graduated and now, but all of
these different aspects of me changed where I feel like I love meeting
strangers now, when before it was not the normal for me. Getting here I
noticed that I wasn’t just learning and embracing the American culture but I
was also learning from so many different people from other countries and it’s
such a safe place to grow and be the best self that you can be.
