How ScoreVision Jumbotrons Benefit Colleges

I think it’s really helped our game-day
experience because we’re big on video elements, so especially for our intros and our starting
lineups and everything, we have a big intro video where turn the lights off and all of
that. So the fact that we can loop it around the
whole arena now, fans have really liked that. People should be excited about these kinds
of things because this is the future. The future of game experiences, the future
of what’s going to happen in terms of event management. When you have messages you want to push, when
you have brand you want to push, this is it. This is the front line. What ScoreVision has done here is something
you don’t see at the mid-major level, but you’re going to and we’re one of the first
in the country to do it. This is ground-breaking. What you guys have done and what Oakland has
done with this partnership is ground-breaking. Really what I’m the most excited about is
our corporate partnership and the fundraising abilities that we’re going to be able to
do with this. We’ve been able to sit down with corporate
partners to have video capabilities, if they want to change their ad because they’re
running a special for the month of October and we can work with them on that. That will significantly increase our ability
to generate revenue for scholarships and programs and things like that. So the fundraising piece is what I’m most
excited about. Sometimes I have a lot of staff, sometimes
I don’t have that much, so one of our favorite things that we have about it is that we can
move with it. We’re not stuck up in our video booth room
if I need to do two jobs. I can run on-court contests and the video
board if I need to. We actually already did that once this year
when we were short-staffed and I had to come on the court and be with contestants but I
could also change everything on the video board to make sure it was going along with
the contest so that was really nice for us. Recruiting is a massive element that we’re
getting, and it’s not just athletics. Admissions right now, they tie into the boards
because they want to put names, so we’ll cycle through names. It doesn’t matter if they’re student athletes
or traditional students, we’ll put their names up on the board because it’s very
easy to do. Right now, whether it’s big recruiting days,
we’ve had some big-time football recruiting days, they’ve tasked me with building some
graphics and having fun with you know, what do the kids like that’s not some generic
graphic that you can build. So I pulled some things out from some graphics
that had been pre-built for us and put them up on the board both inside and outside and
you know, we’re not talking about just your typical football recruits that are going to
be NAIA athletes. We’re talking about kids who we’re grabbing
out of Georgia and Arkansas who we normally don’t, who have received D1 and D2 offers,
and their reaction when they come in and see their name on the board with this really cool
motion graphic, they’re just blown away by it. Their facial expression tells me that we’re
doing something right.
