(music) Over ninety percent of Kansas State University
freshman choose to live on-campus. Offering the best living experience is key for the
success of K-State’s students. Studies show that students who live on-campus
are more likely to finish their degrees and receive higher grades than students who live
off campus during their first years of college. With nine residence halls across campus, there
are a wide variety of rooms but the three most common are… …the standard room The center-bathroom suite And the side-bathroom suite. The standard room is the most commonly found
layout in the residence halls. Options include two, three, or four person rooms with a community
bathroom located in the same hallway. Every room comes equipped with loftable beds, desks,
chairs, mattresses, dressers and closets. All residence halls have a 24-hour front desk
and at least one upperclassmen per floor serving as a resident assistant to help students with
transition, safety, and security. K-State Resident Assistants were recognized as being
one of 14 schools with the best RA’s. The center-bathroom suite is exactly how it
sounds with the two rooms connected by a private bathroom. Anywhere from one to four students
can live in the two connected areas. All furniture is included in each center-bathroom suite
as well. All residence halls offer floor lounges, laundry
facilities, and wired or wireless internet as well as a variety of opportunities to get
students involved on campus. The side-bathroom suite allows students to
have an even more open floor plan. One to four students can also live in this option.
The suite is furnished like the other rooms and the attached bath located to the side
is shared only by the occupants of the room. All students also have access to two academic
resource centers located within walking distance of the residence halls. These centers provide
study space, computers and free tutoring. To learn more about on campus housing options,
