Graduation Hairstyles for Natural Hair by MiniMarley12 – All Things Hair
What’s up guys, I’m Breanna AKA Mini Marley
and I used to think of a better intro than that, but anyway its graduation time. All
over my social media I see you guys taking pictures, you’re graduating and it’s so freaking
exciting whether you’re graduating from middle school, high school, or college good bye education.
I’ll be ready next semester and I cannot wait, but yes it’s basically time for you to figure
out higher commitment all of that big curly kinky curly hair curly hair under this tiny
graduation cap. They obviously [inaudible] when they made these hats, but I got you guys
covered whether you’re just the classic girl, whether you’re super girly, or you’re a fashionista
that loves to make a statement I have three graduation hairstyles for you so that you
can fit all of that hair under this tiny graduation cap and turn that hassle like everybody else.
So, if you want to see how I got these styles including this one then keep watching.
So, I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing here, but anyway let’s get started. So, I
basically just had an old failed twist out that was in a bun so that’s the hair I’m working
with so let’s get started with the first hairstyle for the girly grad. So, you’re just going
to go ahead and make a par on one side of your head as you can see me doing here and
then make another par connecting that line to the top of your ear basically and that
should give you a section that looks something like this. So, I’m going to get ready to get
rid of these odds here and then I’m just going to start by applying the two products I’m
using today, one is the Nexxus Oil Infinite Dry Hair Oil and the other is the Suave Professionals
Firm Control Sculpting Gel. So, I’m starting off with that dry hair oil and it basically
just makes my hair more manageable, smoothes it out and makes it so nice and nourish and
I love that it has sweet almond oil and macadamia oil so I put that along all of the perimeter
of my hair and then I’m going to go ahead and start using my Firm Control Gel by Suave
Professionals and I really love this because they really gives you a touchable finish and
I really mean that. When you’re done with this style and you take
it out you won’t have a hard crunchy feeling at all so this is perfect for changing up
your hairstyle throughout the week. So, now that I’ve applied those products I’m going
to go ahead and start braiding my hair. Now, this was super hard to show on camera, but
I tried but this basically just your basic Dutch braid and I’m going from the top all
the way to the bottom of my ear and then I’m just going to go ahead and pull that back
into a low ponytail. So, I know that when you wear your graduation cap you’re not going
to be able to see this braid, but I think it’s just a really cute detail that you can
have so that when you take off your cap after graduation and you have your graduation dinner
or whatever the case may be you have a super cute hairstyle. So, as you can see I just
added a little bit more of that Suave Firm Control Sculpting Gel to make sure that my
ponytail is really nice and sleek and it also gives me a really nice shine. So, I’m pulling
that braid back into the ponytail and just making a low side ponytail. I think it’s just
really cute and girly and it changes a regular low ponytail into something just a little
bit more special when you put it to the side. Now, I’m just taking a little bit more of
that gel and of course I have to lay my edges and this gel is really perfect for that. It
just really helps me smooth them out. So, now that my first style is complete let’s
go ahead and put on that graduation cap girl because it is time to graduate. No, but this
is just really cute and simple and it helps your hat fit on your head.
So, now for the classic grad. If you’re someone who just likes something simple and timeless
this is really great for you. I think that anything with the low ponytail or a low bun
will really help your graduation cap to sit really nice in your head and you won’t have
to worry about it. So, to make sure that my bun is nice and sleek I’m just using a little
bit more of that Suave Firm Control Sculpting Gel and it just really gives me a nice shine
and as you can see it added so much gel and my hair is still super soft. I love this gel.
So, then I’m also taking a little bit more of it and just slicking down my edges and
then I’m going to tie that down while I work on my bun. So, the bun is super duper simple.
I basically I’m going to walk you through it right now so keep watching. So, as you
can see that was super quick and simple so if your graduation is basically today or tomorrow
and you have no time this would definitely work for you. My bun is super sleek and my
graduation cap fits on top of it perfectly. So, this is just a really great look for the
classic grad. Now, if you’re a little more of a fashionista
like myself and you want to make more of a statement in graduation then this look is
for you. So, I’m just taking a little bit of this synthetic hair and I got it in the
color that matches my hair perfectly and I basically just braided in and attach it to
a ponytail and then attach that ponytail to my ponytail. It’s really, really simple guys.
I promise. Now, I’m just splitting my ponytail in half and I’m going to do a braid on each
side. Now that I have both in my braids complete, I’m just wrapping each one around the base
of my ponytail just to get rid of it basically and make it camouflage and just blend that
ponytail to my regular hair so it just looks like it’s all my own. So, I’m just going to
go ahead and do that and as you can see it gives me a nice long braid and it’s really
just a statement piece I think and it looks really great with my graduation cap as well.
Everything is pulled back out of my face and my cap fits on it perfectly. So, I really
love this fashionable statement look for graduation, but I also love the classic graduation bun
or that cute low side ponytail for those girl grads and I hope this really gave you guys
some inspiration for what to do to your hair for graduation. Don’t forget to subscribe
to All Things Hair and I’ll see you guys in my next video, peace out.
