Which degree are you celebrating today? I am celebrating my undergraduate degree in
religious studies Hispanic Studies Comparative Literature and English and American
Literature English Language and Linguisitics Hispanic Studies French and German I am celebrating a BA in Philosophy French Classical and Archaeological Studies I am celebrating German Philosophy and Religious Studies Italian single honours Religious Studies German and French What was the best part of your degree? How passionate the lecturers are about their
subjects The best part for me was going on my year
abroad. I got to go to America which was really good. I would have to say the final year dissertation
because it is a really rewarding experience to be able to conduct your own research and create a project based around your personal
interests. I very much enjoyed the seminars and I also enjoyed the culmination which was
writing the dissertation. I really enjoyed my year abroad I had a really
great time and made a lot of friends out in Germany. I think the best part was the selection of
modules, there were a lot of options, especially for
French, a lot to choice from I really enjoyed the modules I did. They were really interesting. I did a module where we went in to schools
and did some experience teaching. That was really great and now I am hoping
to become a teacher in the future. I would definitely say the year abroad. I
saw a lot of Italy. I collected all my postcards and I loved it so much I am actually moving
back in a week. I chose to do a year abroad as part of my
degree and I went to Italy to teach children English. So I would say Kent gave me the opportunity
to do that which was a great part of it. I think my module called sociology of religion
where we did like a case study on someone who is religious and thinking about their
background and how they practise it and stuff. And so it was really interesting as you got
to actually do some first hand research. Why would you recommend studying at the University
of Kent? Just as a general university it is really
exceptional especially for research. I’ve always found the best part about Kent
is the location. Canterbury is a really lovely town and its
great being there. That is probably one of my favourite parts. The lecturers are really wonderful people
and also there is a really lovely environment here especially for language learning. The German depart are so friendly and give
so much support it was really fun. I think the location in Canterbury. I think
Canterbury is a great city for students. Canterbury is such a lovely town and there
is so many great places to go and see, really cultural and historical. I think especially for Religious Studies the
course is really great. The fact that it gives you the opportunity
to do a work placement abroad or to study abroad with a degree like mine. As it is the European university it is great
for meeting all the different nationalities and different cultures.
