For Profit Congresswoman Protects For Profit Colleges

there’s a discussion going on in
congress right now %uh some attempts small attempts to try to rein in of
for-profit colleges which have been rife with abuse for a number of years Virginia Foxx is a republic and
representative she has a view on education in America let’s take a look it is not the role of
the congress to make college affordable and
accessible yes just five seconds but that’s pretty awful by then search their
stance yeah so while she was giving that speech she was specifically talking
about for-profit colleges and you guys know how I feel about for-profit
colleges and she dislikes a gainful employment
which basically it means that if you go to a for-profit college are you have to prove that your students
have gainful employment they graduate and a certain percentage of them get a job it helps them not only pay off
their loans but live a meaningful life I first of all the Obama administration
had initially proposed something that was great gainful employment was strong it would have regulated for-profit
colleges perfectly however after the for-profit college industry
lobby the hell out of it Obama watered-down to the point where
it’s not even relevant it’s not gonna make much of a difference now I don’t know what made her comment
on that now but for-profit colleges in scoring
students over for such a long time fifty percent of all student loan debt a federal student loan debt goes to
for-profit college students and only ten percent of students go to for-profit
colleges yeah I you know what made her say that
two things one I she’s a recipient 04 profit college
donations okay daddy yeah and and she s and I’m
this isn’t even an earnest effort to curb the federal government’s role in education I just care about that yes
this is doing the bidding at that that’s the salient point here because I if when I first saw the court
I thought they were having a debate about pay should we put more money into
the department education and she was doing like the extreme
conservative position up who gives a damn it’s not the federal government’s role
maybe you care about at the local or state level may be different but that’s
all my business I find that to be low some but I
understand at least as an as a conservative right wing position is
a that’s not what you doing here talking about legislation that would prevent Obama administration
from enforcing new rules the ones you alluded to an office on for proper cause so the tiny little
that is literally a five percent change what are the rules is like there were
two changes by five percent literally okay so the the republicans are now say we only want that five percent change
don’t touch the for-profit colleges that’s why she says is not the role of
ok hope congress to make college affordable
or accessible median this case for for private
colleges we know they’re not affordable yet but we don’t give a damn so you go
pay all that money and you’re gonna be in default later
anyway according to the statistics in animation I don’t care if you get an education I
don’t care how much you pay for I don’t care how much these guys rob you
because the PAR the money they’re robbing you with they follow back to me right and that’s
the fundamental dishonesty almost though congress and certainly the
Republican Party and definitely Virginia Foxx on this
issue and we already know the republicans are super hypocritical
especially when they mention that their fiscal conservatives but this is a
perfect example about right because our tax dollars go to these
for-profit colleges through federal loans other us some
for-profit colleges including Phoenix online that make over ninety percent of their
revenue through student loans okay to federal
loans to federal %uh love so if you’re a fiscal conservative
in your actually worried about government spending this is a perfect
example of something you should be against but as you mentioned Jake all
she cares about is her bottom line she cares about how much money she’s
getting from campaign donations so she doesn’t want to regulate them at all
it’s a disaster for our economy to disaster for students
