In my, my time at edge I was learning and
being trained and finding out that I really did enjoy working with college students
in full-time ministry. I would not be where I am right now if it wasn’t for
The Navigators so if it wasn’t for EDGE Corps, I would just be I feel like I would
be struggling a lot with my faith. I think it’s motivating to know that I’m
not just impacting non-believers, but also believers as well, and that i can
see believers grow as well as non-believers take steps closer to Jesus. One of the greatest lessons that I’ve
learned while on EDGE Corps has been how to bring someone who doesn’t know
anything about Christ to being a fully-fledged reproducing person, who is
doing the exact same thing than I am so that no matter where they go, whether
they’re a student or an employee, they’ll be able to help another generation
become a Christ-like and lead their own studies and the more people to Christ. It’s a huge blessing to have EDGE Corps on
our campus, because of the energy and the enthusiasm that they bring, with an EDGE
Corps team were able to reach many more students that we could ever do by
ourselves. Tiffany is probably the highlight of my edge core experience. I met her because her roommate her freshman roommate last year filled out
one of our surveys at the very beginning of the year. Tiffany and her other
roommate, there were three of them, instantly wanted to hang out but they
weren’t Christians, and so they would start reading the Bible with me, I just
asked them once, and all of a sudden at the end of last year one night after
NavNight, she just told me, Christine I think I actually believe this, so we
talked about it and she ended up praying and telling Jesus she trusted Him and
she believed Him. It’s been a real joy and blessing to be
up on the floors and reading the Bible with people who don’t know Jesus and
seeing their eyes open to what the truth is, and so one of the people that God
brought to us was this student named Andrew, who really jumped on the idea of
reading the Bible with people who don’t know Jesus on his floor, and it all
started with Andrew just knocking on every single door on his floor and
saying hey we’re going to read the Bible would you like to join us, and out of
that where you got the student named Kevin who looked at us and said I don’t
know anything about the Bible, is it okay if I come? And Kevin has been the most
responsive and faithful student just coming out weekly to join us in the
discussions. In Matthew 9, Jesus talks about how the
harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, and we both see that on the UCLA
campus where there’s tens of thousands of students that are walking around every
day on the campus that don’t know Jesus, and our heart breaks for those people
and we want to help those students come to know Jesus and the student’s that do know Jesus,
we want to help train them to go after those that don’t.
