Hi guys, it’s Angie right here Hi guys, I’m Angie and welcome to my first Vlog Since I don’t have any idea about what I’m going to talk about in this video So I’ll tell you guys about a thing that I know clearly – my undergraduate course. So I’m the owner of a blog called “Trâm Anh nghĩ gì” (What do Trâm Anh thinks) that’s where I’m sharing all the things that I know about France, about Paris English speakers pronounce it like ‘Pa-riss’ but actually it’s Pah-ree about my study about news, what’s hot, what’s trending and also what gains attention, for example the rising entrance fees in French university So that blog luckily, had received a lot of positive feedbacks So today, I will do a Vlog about my courses, my university and the reason why I chose Paris 7 and also “Langues Etrangères Appliquées” (Applied Languages) as my course First question: Why Paris 7? So I’m a typical Asian I like to watch the universities’ ranking So I went on Times Higher Education, searching for Top Universities in France There were Paris 11, Paris 7 Paris 1, Paris 3,…. in short there were a lot of universities So Paris 7 was on the #2, and I found out that they had ‘Applied Languages’ So I applied for it, I’m kinda chilled I was just like, oh I like that university, so I went straight for it although I never heard about it, knew nothing about it, and also I never found it’s name on newspaper or magazine. The second question is: what is my course and the reason why I chose it. So as I mentioned before, I’m now student of “Applied Languages” (Langues Etrangères Appliquées) it sounds a little bit, just a little bit weird as first but since I dig into research, I found it really interesting At first, I wanted to choose “LLCER” which is a course that specialized on Litterature and History. OMG I’m feeling lucky right now since I did not choose that In that course, they also had some Vietnamese classes. So I was like.. “OMG so fun I can speak my first language” But a few days before the deadline to file the application list, I found out LEA – which has more applicable materials, classes I can use the lessons provided in every classes to apply in different aspects of life like economics or politics etc. On the other hand we just have a few options after finishing LLCER one is to deepen the study, two is to become a professor. But I really can’t teach others It’s okay I’m a listener, but I think nobody would listen to me if I’m a professor The third question When I come to Paris Diderot, did I do a right choice? How were the classes? How were the professors? How were the friends? So sincerely, I just wanna say I’m pretty satisfied with it for these reasons: First, I had learned a lot of new things. Especially before I went to France, I’m like… noob in “Spanish” so my Spanish professor in France asked me in the first class “How long have you learned Spanish?” so I answered “2 months ago”. And then she is like “Huh? What”, she’s obviously shocked and since then she always makes me answered questions in her classes and I’m so grateful that thanks to her, my Spanish is better Actually I can do things with my Spanish, I can do a lecture but I just can communicate like native persons… How do we say “What do you want to eat in Spanish” (i forgot) “Que quieres… comer… esta… noche” My Spanish professor will be so sad watching this. Sorry Mme, at least I tried… The second reasons why I think that Paris Diderot would be a great choice for Vietnamese students is because of their variety of languages students’ variety of cultures. Paris 7 in my heart was like a mini version of Paris – the city. You will meet everyone from every culture bases so you will never feel lonely, suffered or suffocated in the crowd. I also think that it’s a great university because we are all sharing a campus but besides, we have different cultures different praxis, different thoughts The third reason why I think that LEA is a really interesting course for someone who still doesn’t have a clear orientation of their future all they know is they want to use languages as a mean of their profession. For example, me, I plan to go for a year of exchange in United Kingdom, and then will try to take the Master in some random courses that I still don’t have any clue. So it means that the time that I spend in Paris 7, it’s not just help me to have more knowledges about French, English, Spanish, the languages that I know I will need and have to use in my future… but it also gives me time to really think about what I want to learn in the future. I can continue learning LEA in Master, to deepen my knowledge in languages, or I could probably change to courses of Translate or course that specialize in Law to become a Lawyer a Prosecutor It’s like a starting trampoline for you to jump to your dreams what you want to learn in the future during the time that you’re in Paris 7. And besides, having courses in Paris 7 was not like everyday you have to attend some random auditoriums, stay if you’re interested, leave if you’re bored. But actually it will divided all the students in study group this small group will stick with us just like from the Primary School until High School (in Vietnam) and it will stick around for about a semester. The group combines 10, 15 or maybe 20 students. We will have the chance to interact with professors and have our assignments reviewed. So maybe that’s it, if you have any questions related to LEA that you want to ask me also questions like: How do I feel studying in France, what were the differences between Vietnam and France, do I feel stressed, shocked when I first came to France then you can text me, contact me via all the information that I have in the Description box. And if you like…. And if you like this video and find it helpful don’t forget to click the “Subscribe” button and yeah “Subscribe” Stay tuned and wait for my next videos. So I will share about every subjects that I want to, or you want to maybe I will review some movies. Do you guys like this idea? Name out.. My Top 10 lists, or maybe doing some awesome shopping hauls So this would be a place where I can talk as much as I like cause’ I’m a real bird chirping all day in my daily life.
