DMACC Spring Graduation 2018

DMACC’s graduating class of 2018 is a
wonderfully diverse group of students. More than 1200 students walked across
the stage. Their personal stories are unique and compelling. We asked several
students what graduation means to them, and what they will be doing next. My message here tonight is to always pursue your dreams despite what people say. If
it’s something that you’re really passionate about go ahead and pursue it
because you don’t want to live your life with regrets. I’m graduating in the dental
hygiene program, and this ceremony is a lot of fun and exciting for us. I’m receiving my DMACC Financial Administration AA degree in order to
transfer to Drake University. I’m getting my Liberal Arts today, and then I’m going to transfer to Mercy Health and Sciences to get my bachelors of science of Nursing. With my Dental Hygiene degree, I’m going to work at a pediatric office and work
with all the kids. I’m partially done with my major, and I’m the first person that I know of in my family to go this far in college, so it’s kind of a
good thing for me. We have all types of students we have, you know, mothers, fathers and husbands and wives who all came back to do something different in
their life. So never give up.
