Hello everyone, this is Lollo And today I’m going to introduce you a little bit about myself So you’ll be able to know what kind of videos I will make in the future and what kind of projects I will work on So, let’s get into it Don’t get worried if I’m gonna switch in different languages I’ll make some subtitles in English and Italian In the CC thing down there You’ll be able to see it So I am Lollo I decided to call myself with that artistic name because I really do believe It’s a very humble Kind of artistic name, very easy to use And plus my real close friends Call me Lollo so, I feel like I want to get connected with you in that kind of sense Not as Lorenzo, which is my actual name Lorenzo Massa I was born in Genzano di Roma, a little town close to Rome And it’s in this area That I lived for my first 19 years of life And it’s in here that I have learnt… I have learnt that my passion is in making music, making videos Writing… And there are several reasons, but surely the biggest influences that made me decide to enter in this field are surely my father and my mother My dad as he gave me the personality as he wanted to become a film director himself and work in the film industry, but for various reasons he did not make it But, surely, the personality to work in the field was there as he’s always been a very open minded person and he has always pushed me He always said to me “Lorenzo, you have to make experiences You need to try and do all the things you can do and learn from them” And from that I have learnt a lot from him On the other hand there is my mom that has always taught me to be empathic with people, loving them as she has always been a very loving person So I thank her a lot for this and also, she has always put me… She created the feet that stand on the ground practically As While realizing and understanding my possibilities thanks to her I have always I have seen things with different perspectives from a realistic perspective but also trying to reach the very BIG objectives that I have given me that come from my dad So it is a mix Then, in reality, this could have been applied to various jobs, but there have been two major experiences that took me to follow this dream of starting to get somewhere economically with music and theatre My first experience with music was thanks to a friend That I met in high school He needed a singer for his pop/rock band As the other singer left So, he asked me if I was interested to audition for it and I said yes, ok, I’ll try they took me and from that moment I did my first experiences on a stage Live performances And, guys it was from that moment that I have understood the strong relation that can be created from an individual and a small group of individuals and a group of 20-30 people and it is something of incredible, there is an energy that you liberate to give to this group of people that I have never tried before and apart from giving you an ego boost as then people tell you “bravo!” They give you compliments anyways, it is it is a beautiful experience being able to give something, on an emotional level to a big group of people And that was my first experience with an audience and I think it was that the fact of… the constant that has always kept me in this field being able to connect with a group of people and being able to give them something and at the same time express myself and, precisely, understand myself, analyse myself from the feedback that there is with that audience so that experience I did it with the band and then a second experience, the theatre I did it thanks to a teacher that for her I read out loud very well so she told me in my opinion you are a born actor you have to try, to go and do this theatrical workshop that there is in Ariccia And I I am not sure about the connection of reading out loud well and become an actor, but I tried to… I did a year of this theatrical course and also there there was a personal experience and a change that you meet in the theatre as you have to empathize with different characters from you and being able to convey the emotions of these characters that is an exercise on an emotional and social level that is amazing something that is a little bit different from music performances and so an emotional work that the theatre has given me which was amazing, so made this experience with music and theatre I did not want to leave these fields so, when I was sixteen years old I had the idea that I wanted to study the two subjects then, for several reasons Some of them which are personal, I decided to go abroad, and I decided to move to England as English was the only language that I spoke a little not even really speaking but anyways So I decided to try to see if there was an opportunity and searching and searching I discovered that, and this was a big motivation that pushed me to convince my mom to move out as in England, differently from Italy and I think also from France, Spain and Portugal that are more or less similar countries of Europe The structure of the university to study music and drama is quite different I know that here there is the DAMS and the conservatory but are two different things there are courses for musical theatre, but it is not what I wanted to do, in reality I wanted to study music and drama as separate fields as I wanted to learn more about them at an academic level in fact, in England, there are several academic courses that combine multiple subjects, so… when I have learnt that, I was very happy and I decided I wanted to study for three years these subjects I remember that among the first… When I have learnt this This was the most important thing, therefore I have sent my first letters to all the universities that I could You can send up to five I might make a video on that to get into the subject if someone is interested to learn about how to get into an English university Also after Brexit We’ll see if it will still be possible anyways I have sent my letters to five universities And I did not even really checked the universities at what ranking they were… The most important thing for me was to study these two subjects in this way And among one of these there was an university called Oxford Brookes University And when I saw Oxford I was like ok, I will try at that one, they will not take me…! And in reality three universities accepted me and among these there was Oxford Brookes University Now, Oxford Brookes University is not University of Oxford But damn guys, I am so proud of being graduated from that university, Oxford Brookes University as I have learnt so much, and I have grown so much from that experience that, I really do believe that, the university itself really allowed that also because to be honest Oxford Brookes University is actually, I think I read the best university from the universities created after the 1960s, so… Yeah, god damn, here I am So, anyways I managed to get into that and I went in Oxford to study for three years music and drama as combined honours as an undergraduate degree the university really allowed me to open another path which was the academic, academia world. I really loved studying, in general, even before going to university when I was in Italy But, let’s say that the experience I had at the university was amazing Especially towards the third year where I was allowed to make my own research and I got really interested into the neurology slash, let’s say, psychology and the economics of the arts and more obviously, specifically, more into Music and the physical movement, Drama let’s say that in the next projects, I will probably make content that will be very academic based and, even now, I continue researching the university really allowed me to be able to research by myself these topics and I’m This is something which is great because maybe before I wouldn’t have even had an idea on how to get into certain topics, certain fields and probably I wouldn’t have even understood an academic book because I would have been liked, what the heck is he talking about? I don’t know… I don’t know these terms very… I don’t know I really do believe that being in that environment really gets you more connected into the academia I’ll wrap it up over here now because I probably think I crossed over the ten minutes I do hate when I see videos that are more than 10 minutes I’m like, this seems interesting but I can’t be asked to watch for over more than ten minutes So, I’ll wrap it up over here and I’ll see you to the next video Ok
