[President Ana Mari Cauce] What a beautiful day! Welcome to the
144th commencement ceremony of the University of Washington. You made it and I’m truly honored to be the first to formally congratulate the degree and
award recipients and to welcome you to the ceremony. Whether you’re collecting your bachelors,
your masters, a professional degree or your PhD, your accomplishments fill all of us at the University with pride. You are the mission of this great public
university and we’re here to cheer for you. [Student] I’m feeling really excited actually. Today I’m like “Wow, these are like all the people I’ve spent four years with!” even
if I don’t know them. So I’m pretty excited. [Student] Just a lot of excitement just for the
next steps of my journey and just seeing what I can give back to my family and to
the community. [Student] I was working full-time at the same time I was doing my Master’s
full-time so that was a little bit challenging. I got married in the process.
Now I get to celebrate and enjoy. [Student] Just really grateful for University of
Washington and for all that I’ve learned here. It’s been a really amazing
experience
