College Students Stumped on Civics at University of Texas—Austin

We the people apparently know nothing
about American history. A recent study by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation found the only 39% of all American citizens can pass the
citizenship exam. We went to the premier higher education institution in Texas, UT—Austin, to find out more about the crisis facing American civic education today. So, who really is the VP? Is Trump Trump’s own VP? The world may actually just never
know. Who’s the current vice president of the United States? He’s old and white. He’s white, that is correct. I want to say Joe Biden but I don’t
know why. He was our last Vice President. Mike Pence. It is Mike Pence! You guys got it! Uh, Mr. Pence. Yes! He would be proud of you. Who is one of your current senators? *Whispers* The Zodiac Killer. Oh man, I think… Is there like an A,B,C,D? Is there like an answer choice? No, there is not. That’s okay. We both live in New York City. In New York? Chuck Schumer. Cruz and Cornyn. You’re killing it! What are the first three words of the Constitution? Um, “to be self-evident…” No, that’s the Declaration of Independence. “We the people.” Yes! “We the People in order to
establish a more perfect union…” Wow, you guys could just list the whole preamble! “We the People.” Yes! Well, I only have two words for you…. To learn more about how we can
