Carolina’s Class of 2016 Celebrates Graduation Day

It’s a rush of four years coming in at one moment. Just being able to have that nostalgic moment of ‘I’ve been through this I managed to
succeed and I’m here right now graduating.’ Class of 2016!!! Wooooo!!!! There can’t really be words to put around this day. We’ve all put in countless hours in the library. It feels like a blink of an eye and we’re here. This year, for the first time since 2000, we are back on the field. Graduates, I want you to just look around
right now and just soak in this moment. It is time for men in this generation,
alongside women, as equals, to be bold and to break the mold of traditional
expectations for how men should lead their lives, just as we have broken those
expectations for how women should lead their lives. Strive and struggle and work really,
really hard, but invest in others as much as you invest in yourselves. I’m
privileged to lead you moving your tassels from right to left, signifying
your new status. Congratulations! It’s been really special for us to kind of go
through our college experience together and an end today graduating in a line, you know, in Kenan Stadium. We’re the Parker triplets, class of 2016, go Heels! My charge to the class of 2016 Is to continue to learn to trust yourselves, your voice, to remain true to your hearts and to
your values. I offer you my warmest congratulations!
