The Lord Jesus Christ, whose church this is, appoints Prophets and Apostles to communicate His love and His laws. 5. You may know for yourself what is true and what is not by learning to discern the whisperings of the Spirit. I was born into the church so it wasn't until recently I started questioning why I beleive the things I believe. This was reassuring. If the gospel wasn't true, why would we be told to seek truth? Reply Abbey Patterson says: September 17, 2019 at 10:42 pm I LOVE THIS YOUARE THE BEST Reply Jen Ridge says: September 17, 2019 at 10:49 pm As one who also was born into the church and had wavered twice throughout my lifetime, I came to be converted in 2011 because 1) I found a testimony of Jesus as a brother and king. A loved family member who looks out for me as a big brother should. As my only source of unconditional love ever known. And 2) The Articles of faith, particularly the one that refers to basically 'We seek all things and hope for all things good, and we believe many new things are yet to be revealed…' This is completely opposite of any other Christian denomination who refuses to allow personal revelation, as well revelation from a living Prophet. Our gospel leaders emplore us today to seek personal revelation for it will be vital to our future survival. That is powerful and testifies to truth. Reply Garrett Williams says: September 17, 2019 at 10:52 pm What an amazing sermon! Thank you President Nelson! No matter where or when! President Nelson is an excellent example in this! Who cares what others think about you, stand up for the truth and for Christ! Stand alone if you must! Reply Melody Jackman says: September 17, 2019 at 11:40 pm I appreciated what was said about the LGBT policy change. As someone who was deeply troubled by it, appreciated the recognition of the pain and weeping it caused. I so desperately need to see understanding instead of just defensiveness and assuming unrighteousness and unfaithfulness on the part of people who questioned the policy. I understand better why it was in place, and I can see that you also understand better why people questioned. So, thank you for the compassion for those of us who struggled and wept. Reply rebsarge says: September 18, 2019 at 4:09 pm I was a fire-breathing, proselyting atheist for almost 20 years. Some business associates were members of the church, and so impressed me with their qualities I decided to investigate the church. It took me three years of study and research to be baptized. My testimony is simply this: the Book of Mormon is true, and the church is truly the Church of Jesus Christ. The first chapter of the Book of James contains sound counsel. Reply Ryan Fisher says: September 18, 2019 at 4:10 pm I love how he walks with and treats his wife it makes me feel like it’s the same way our heavenly parents are. Reply Capt. Reply Ariel Cole says: September 18, 2019 at 7:48 pm I am so grateful for this powerful message. I believe President Nelson is the Lord's Prophet in this time, and that his message is true. What a profound blessing to have the loving direction of living Prophets and Apostles, in addition to the beautiful ancient word of God in scripture. Reply Anne Greener says: September 18, 2019 at 8:32 pm Such beautiful singing! Whoaw Reply honder says: September 18, 2019 at 8:47 pm I disliked this message. I know it is not of Christ. I know through the witness of the Spirit and without a doubt that Russell Nelson is a false prophet. He needs to study the New Testament some more. I wonder how long it will take them to remove this comment. Reply Stephanie Hauge says: September 18, 2019 at 9:54 pm Puke. Reply Vic Walker says: September 18, 2019 at 11:38 pm That was wonderful! Reply HmongGuitarPlayer says: September 19, 2019 at 12:42 am You can not bless anyone for you do not have the power to do so only God can give blessings. Reply David Prado says: September 19, 2019 at 1:27 am In Genesis 2:7 (KJV), man was created with a body, soul, and Spirit. In Genesis 1:27, man and woman were created in "his own image", God has a Body (Jesus), Soul (Father), and Spirit (The Spirit). In 1John 5:7, it says "and these three are one." In the Bible there is no Trinity language such as three persons, and God the Father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit, it is a made-up philosophy (which the Bible actually tells you to beware of). A multi-dimensional being (which is what we are by the way), seeding himself in is not only biblical, but logic and possible. Multiple dimensions as playing a video game, the character in the videogame has boundaries, you playing the game have different boundaries, simple and logical to explain, impossible to fully understand what's outside our dimensions. In Matthew 12:17-18 (spoken by Isaiah), it says, "in whom my soul is well pleased", and in Matthew 3:17, it says "in whom I am well pleased". In Mark 14:34-36, Jesus parallels his soul and the Father. In Revelation 6:9, the Apostle John "saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain", and they cried "avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?". John saw and recognized these peoples souls, just imagine if there slain bodys ascended to heaven, like Jesus ascended to the Father, there would two visible things of one being (body and soul). In John 14:9 if you see Jesus (body), you see the Father (soul). Body and Soul can actually communicate with each other and have sepreate consciousnesses (Psalm 13:2, Romans 2:15, 13:5, 9:1, this is why Jesus was walking around saying I'm not bearing witness of myself, but of the Father). I'm not saying you can know everything, but how to explain many things logically is what God loves to show, more than people realize.I got this from the my Lord Jesus, through the help of KJV – Ministries also. (Youtuber) Another thing,If you are "born again", you cannot sin, "for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin because he's born of God." (1 John 3:8-9). However,1 John 5:13 States that "ye may know that you have eternal life" and you can know because he has "written it unto you" the formula how to know.1 John 5:2-3 I believe, is this summary of that formula, "that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not Grievous." Always remember that you actually have to want God, truth, and his Commandments, and they're not burdensome and "Grievous". Born again believers want everything Jesus stands for, this is why his yoke is easy, because that's what we want, a good, pure conscience to God! And if you want to know what "keep his Commandments" mean in that context, remember the phrase "know" remember the phrase "love God" remember the phrase "keep his Commandments".All of these are perfectly in context in another section of the Bible. This is John's letter and he heard this from Jesus, if you go to his gospel, you find it. John 14:14-24 has all of that, and the answer of what keeping his Commandments really means. In verse 17 you have "know", in verses 15 and 21, you have "love God", in verses 15 and 21 you have " keep his commandments".Verse 22 a question is proposed, "how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?".If you say that the gospel is just "believe and have faith in jesus and your saved" then why do you need to keep his commandments? Obviously more to this.If you say that the gospel is "believe and have faith in Jesus Christ and obey him" if God tells you to keep his Commandments and obey him, Gods standards are perfection, so you better perfectly keep up with his standard which no man can in the flesh, except the son of man. The answer lies in verse 23 and 24 "If a man love me, he will keep my words…", " He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings". the world cannot see if you keep God's words in your heart to answer Judas question. When you become a new creation, a new creature, and have the renewing of the Mind, you no longer want evil and your will, but holiness and God's will, that corresponds with the gospel. The Bible proposes that you can perfectly keep his Commandments in the Spirit. This is what the son of man did. Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried and resurrected, sin lead to this. When you see the contrast between Good and evil, you make a decision, this is a part of the Gospel. That's why when your "born again" it's actually possible with a real motive to do good, I do all I can not to sin, even though I could, because I hate evil, it just kills, Steals and destroys in my new perspective by God! Reply Gensan and Koronadal Properties says: September 19, 2019 at 3:26 am Thank you President Nelson. Your words on the "Divine Law" is so powerful for me. Yes, it must be kept to achieve the desired result. May you be blest with greater strenght every day. Reply James Wines says: September 19, 2019 at 4:27 am What does the LDS church or church have to do with the Jesus of the bible nothing, The Mormons are a Cult, A person with some knowledge can disprove the book of Mormon every time. Despite the hurt the policy caused me initially I pressed forward in faith, knowing that things would work out in due time according to God’s will. I’m so grateful that God heard my prayers and many others, that the policy was changed – I’m so thankful for our prophet and our lord and saviour Jesus Christ. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. How do I know? I have put this to the test in my life and I know this. Reply LudgeroStella says: September 19, 2019 at 11:15 pm ❤️ our prophet! Reply Elaine Carter says: September 20, 2019 at 12:24 am President Nelson is one of the greatest of the latter-day prophets. Anyone who can't feel his love and can't gain a witness of his prophetic calling probably also can't feel the promptings of the Holy Ghost. If that is the case for us, that isn't Pres. Nelson's problem, that is our problem and we are putting ourselves in an extremely dangerous position when we criticize the Lord's prophet and the 12 Apostles. If we are daily reading the Book of Mormon, praying sincerely, keeping our covenants, and following the other wise counsel Pres. Nelson has given us, we will all have our own personal witness of the truths he is teaching us about Jesus Christ and His true Church. The restoration is on-going and will continue until the Savior comes again. Reply Carter Rae says: September 20, 2019 at 1:03 am What a beautiful and remarkable talk !!! Someone please let me know. God bless!💒 Reply Mike Mistretta says: September 23, 2019 at 2:57 am One of the best messages I have heard in a long time. God and Jesus are lifted up, and this message, will no doubt, be used to lead many to the Lord. Reply Havi Wisdom says: September 23, 2019 at 3:53 am 16:27 God did not send his only son to save us, God manifested himself in the flesh as Jesus Christ and put himself through very, very difficult time so that in Him as Jesus, He shows His great Love for us and save us through His Blood on the Cross. Reply brett neuberger says: September 23, 2019 at 6:35 am Wow, not one negative comment on here about the tragedy, harm, and heartache the November 2015 policy had on families throughout the Church. To claim the policy was created out of love for children, and worse, to profess it came from God, is blasphemous. Families were torn apart, people left the church in droves, and loved ones committed suicide…all because of that “loving” policy. It’s one thing to recognize, admit fault, and apologize for creating such a blunder, but to double down and “profess” it was from GOD, is full-blown gaslighting and out-right deception. Reply Jeffery Scott says: September 24, 2019 at 6:09 am It was about keeping out contention in the home between the kids and their parents? Yet the policy asked kids to disavow their parents choices before being permitting them to serve a mission. Quite unifying indeed. Reply Jared Jensen says: September 24, 2019 at 9:34 am This message was amazing. The policy announced in 2015 about LGBT and the children was hard for me and my wife to understand why. We never found a satisfying answer to our questions but we knew the church was true and that gods wisdom is greater than ours. I knew God would help us understand in his own time because whenever I had questions or concerns in the past he would always answer. I have actually been keeping notes on this topic for 3 years now and would update it whenever I found something new that would help explain why God would have wanted this policy. I understand why now after hearing this true and insightful message. Thank you. Reply d d says: September 26, 2019 at 4:20 pm Remember who we really worship!
