[music playing]>>Welcome to Berkeley College. My name is Louis. A few years ago, I was in the same position
as you guys. Today I’m here to give you guys a few tips
and advice on how to navigate on our campus. Follow me. First things first, always remember to swipe
your I.D. card and say hello to our security guard. Our first stop, you need to get your student I.D. at Student Development and Campus Life. If you want to spend most of your time here,
join the club and get involved.>>Berkeley College offers a lot of clubs
and activities for students that I really encourage people to participate in because
it does open up a lot of doors for communication and skill building and just having a great
time with people that you may have never talked to before.>>Did you know we offer personal counseling? Here you can visit with a counselor to work
out any personal issues you may have from your school work, family life, relationships,
really anything that you need some guidance on. Our personal counselors are here for your
help and it’s all confidential.>>You have an option to actually see what
you can get out of it rather than you just thinking about it and seeing in my mind it
doesn’t make sense so I’m not going to do it in reality because it can really help you.>>Another great place on campus is the Career
Services Department. It’s never too early to stop in your for
career goal. Get to know your career counselor and build
your resumé right away. Practice your interview skills. Get LinkedIn tips, look for part-time jobs,
and line up for interviews or dream jobs. A tip from me to you: Always file your FAFSA
early. Stop by to ask any questions or receive any
help that you need. It’s important to keep up with your financials. Get to know your adviser as soon as possible. This person will help guide and support you
throughout your time at Berkeley College. Your adviser is your best resource for tracking
your practice and stay on track to graduate.>>They really go out of their way to help. That’s what I have come to love about this
school. Whatever campus you go to, they are really
involved.>>Now we’re at Student Accounts. Here is where you go to make a payment and to
complete your registration process every semester. Here is the CAS. You can receive tutoring and help for all
your courses, editing a paper, and help with research.>>There’s always somebody in there any time
of day whenever you need them. I can even email them online. I can be sitting in my bed from home and talk
to somebody and ask them for help from there. There’s always somebody to help, and I utilize
that all the time.>>Oh, hello there. Now on to the lab room. This is a quiet place to study or work together
as a group. You can borrow books, laptops, magazines and
access resources 24/7 on or off campus. You can meet with the librarians in person
or online to help with your research needs.>>My favorite place on campus would definitely
be the library. It’s so quiet. It’s the best place to study and did your
work.>>SHHHHH! Welcome to the “Quiet Room.” Isn’t it nice be able to unplug and recharge
for a little bit? Well, here on campus, in the middle of Brooklyn,
you can just do that. Relax, take a deep breath and just be. SHHHHHHH! This is where our Campus Operating Officer
is located. This person runs and oversees the campus. Feel free to stop by and say hello.>>We hope this gave you a little more insight to our Brooklyn campus. We invite you to learn more about Berkeley
College and follow us on social media to see what our students and alumni are up to. Thank you for watching and good luck.
