Beatrice [Name spoken in Swedish] I always wanted to study photography in Europe,
so I was looking for different universities in London, Berlin and Paris and I decided
to come to London for an open day and they explained to me what all of the facilities
were and they were very modern and they had the most equipment that we need to do photography
and I have seen previous student works online and those really impressed me and I also spoke
to students here who studied photography before and they were really happy with how they turned
out and it seemed very professional from what I heard and what I saw so that made me apply. When I first arrived here I was guaranteed
accommodation because I am an international student and that was a very good thing because
I didn’t really know the place and we had the international freshers fair which was really
fun because we get to meet lots of people from different countries and introduce new
friendships which I still have today and there were a lot of events organised so that was
really really fun. Being an international student in London is
very exciting and fun because alongside your studies you get to explore the city that’s
very different from where you are from maybe and the people here are from different countries
so you get to see new cultures and learn a lot about yourself and there is always something
to do. I recommend BA photography at this university because it really developed my
skills a lot and the access to good computer softwares and being around professional staff
members and your peers. I have learnt so much. So my career plans for the future is hopefully
to continue my freelancing in photography and illustration which I started doing on
my course because I want to pursue an independent career in the creative industries.
