I’m Abheeshta I am from India and I’m pursuing my masters in electrical engineering. I came here in fall 2012 While I was choosing, which college to go to I made a list of colleges which are good at engineering and My GRE score had to match the GRE score for the school and then my undergrad GPA so Auburn was a best school I was getting into so I had to just try. I mean, it was actually they said that I might get into it and to try, I still had to try. I loved this college when I first is found out about it. so here I am. That should be I think my second tiger nights here Like we have Tiger Nights every semester Where you know the UPC hosts it and we were all having blast I mean me and my other four friends It was, it was amazing. I mean we were there for the whole three hours. I guess just enjoying it well, I think of it as a battle cry and War Eagle is when like, I’ve heard people saying War Eagle to me when I was wearing Auburn t-shirts and going to other cities In the U.S., so you can see like how people at Auburn connect to it. It’s just like Um it’s the way we encourage our team. Maybe to do good football or how you greet your fellow Auburn families. War Eagle hey Auburn creed to me is like I think it’s how Auburn is, it’s what we believe in, it’s what we want others to see in us and My favorite line will be, “I believe in a sound mind and a sound body, and it’s spirit That’s not afraid”. that’s somehow, I connect to that line late and It’s it’s like you know. I mean just take the line it’s like if you think right, if you Be healthy, if you’re not afraid you can take on any challenges of life and gain experiences. oh Aubie is the best mascot Anywhere in the U.S. I mean Aubie is our Tiger mascot as we are Auburn tigers, and he is just amazing like whenever you see him at the tailgate or it’s game He’s always entertaining Encouraging it’s fun to hang out uh when I came to the U.S. I knew actually I knew no one here. None of my friends are coming to same university. Once you come here I mean they like encourage you to be You know part of the university you have many programs doing that that’s when I got the feel like yes This is my family. I think that’s what everyone thinks That’s why we as an Auburn family are very close as I said like you see people outside wearing a War Eagle Auburn t-shirt. You just said War Eagle and you will definitely hear it back I’ve never had an experience where no one like responded to it, so It’s like we are all move to different parts of the world or maybe I’ll go back to India but I will still be a part of Auburn family it’s It’s just a feeling, great feeling to be part of it. Every time after you win a football game. You can see the entire stadium walk right up to Miss conner It’s like Downtown Auburn. There were these trees, which we used to roll with toilet paper I know that sounds strange, like you have to be there to feel it and from that time I’ve been there every game we won, so first I was very Skeptical, would I be doing the rolling toilet paper on trees and all that but then you go there you see What’s going on. You don’t want to come out of it until everyone starts dispersing So that’s one great. I think that’s one of the Auburn traditions um Once I was not here for the home game I was coming back the next day, the Sunday, and I thought the entire area, like Oh, there was snow in Auburn. I mean it looks all white and I Was driving down that road, and I’m like wow wow this looks great I mean when you see it from outside when you are not in there because every time we roll we just stay there for some time and come back and The next day no one goes there. Yes and I’ve said like pictures to my family about of the oaks being rolled and Like what’s that? looks good? They could never guess it was toilet paper from the pictures like wow What did they do? Do they have streamers down it? No, it’s just all toilet paper, plain old toilet paper. I Used to walk around a lot on the campus and outside of campus my favorite place to hang out is like, there’s a red farm Outside it’s it’s quite a walk, but we used to just go there spring evenings and hang out for some time and then come back and The whole campus is like very it’s a huge campus. You can just find anywhere and all of the conquers I Had times where we used to just sit there and like watch people go and talk about life my friend in general. It’s just great First of all Auburn is I think a good school to start off. I mean When I came here, I didn’t feel Lonely or like depressed being away from home It’s I guess it’s the whole culture in the university so that would actually be a good choice to come here if you’re starting off your undergrad and You have to work out you definitely have to work out. It’s a great school We will work really have for your grades, but it’s worth it My parents were actually a little proud when I got into a good college because not everyone knows about Auburn University and then I was like do your research and Then they’re like, huh, that’s a good school you’re going to. We’re so proud. It was happy moment when I got my visa
