Hey everyone! Welcome to or welcome back to
my channel Deanna Troy Travels. Subscribe for travel related videos
every week! So recently we took a trip to Hanoi, Vietnam, and in the Old Quarter, around Hoàn Kiếm Lake, especially on the weekends, there are many Vietnamese
students all around looking for tourists to interview and ask questions to so
that they can practice their English. This is kind of like their homework that
their teachers give them. Usually it’s small school-aged children. But one time I was interviewed by a college student
from the National Economics University. He is studying business there. So he interviewed me all about business and career. We discussed YouTube as a career, and all different aspects about
choosing a career and career choices. This isn’t really like my usual videos, but I thought I’d throw it in there
because it’s kind of interesting, and he asked some really good questions! Also, the audio is pretty bad
because it was windy outside. I tried my best to edit it, but if you watch it with the captions, and kind of play around
with the volume while you’re listening to it, you can still hear what we’re saying. So I hope you enjoy it, and without further ado here is the interview! *Snap* Hello! What’s your name? My name is Deanna. Where are you from? America So, have you had any difficulty
during your time in Vietnam? Oh, no! Not at all! We love living in Vietnam it’s very fun! Is the weather perfect? Does it suite you? Yeah, well right now we live in Da Nang
and it’s kind of the rainy season. But soon it will be nice and sunny. But usually in Vietnam,
there’s lots of sun and it’s very hot. Where we’re from it gets very cold so we like that a lot. So, what is your dream job? My dream job? Well, I just started a YouTube Channel,
and my dream job would be, to just to have enough subscribers
to at least make some money on it. Oh, so you are a YouTuber? Yes! Oh! I like them! I really admire them
because I think YouTubers are really creative! So what are your videos about? My videos are about traveling and travel advice
and sometimes vlogs and interviews. His friend behind camera: You will be on her YouTube! Wow! I’m going to be on your YouTube? Yes! You will be on my YouTube channel! Wow! So what is your channel name? My channel name is Deanna Troy Travels. So how many countries have you traveled to so far? I’ve been to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia Vietnam, Singapore, Australia I think that’s it, am I missing any? All over Southeast Asia! Oh, you love Southeast Asia? Yes we do! All last year we traveled
and this year we live in Da Nang. Wow! So do you think that doing an interesting job
is much better than a high salary job? Well that depends on what kind
of high salary job you’re going to do, because there’s something very fun high salary jobs. I don’t know what they are, but they’re out there! But it is fun doing a creative job, it’s just harder because there is less money. I don’t know, it depends. I also like creative jobs, but I think the salary is too low. So I would prefer something in a high salary job. You seem to really like what you are doing? Right? Yes I do like what I am doing. So, do you prefer working in a team or working alone? Oh that’s a tough one! With YouTube I usually just work alone
and make my own videos. I have people in them, but I direct it,
film it, edit it and upload it. I do kind of like that, because with groups sometimes
maybe people will slack off and not do what they are supposed to do
or they’re late or things like that. When you’re alone you don’t have to worry
about anybody else. But at the same time, it’s fun working with a team of people because I love being around people! So you are working alone right now, with him?
*gestures to Cedric filming* Oh yeah, that’s my boyfriend.
*gestures to Cedric* He helps me film and
sometimes he’s in the videos too. Cedric: Hi Usually I do the filming but he helps film sometimes too. So with all the YouTube movies you upload, all the editing and directing is done by yourself? Yeah! Wow! So how many jobs have you applied to? Oh my goodness! Millions! Millions? No, not millions, haha I used to just do cashier work when I was a teenager. Then when I started to learn how to been an art teacher, I worked at many different museums, schools,
after-school programs and summer schools. So, I have probably applied to at least
a hundred jobs but probably more than that! Wow! But yeah, I’ve had many different jobs. I haven’t applied to any and I’m 18 years old! Oh don’t worry about it! and I don’t know what I’m going to do
after I graduate my university! So in your school is there orientation? Yes, we do have orientation in American college. In America sometimes we call it
“college” not “university”. But usually, everywhere else
in the world calls it university. What are you studying in university? My university is National Economic University. It’s quite far from here, about 3 kilometers. Cool! So, do you prefer starting your own business
or working for a company? Oh yeah, that’s similar to what
we were talking about before I guess. This is my first time trying to start my own thing. With YouTube it’s kind of like
starting your own business a little bit. So, I don’t know, we’ll see! It’s a lot easier to work in a company, because you get a weekly paycheck,
it’s organized, and it’s easier to make money. When you start your own business it’s hard to get started and figure out time management and money. So it’s easier to work for a company, but it’s more fun to start your own thing and more ownership. Like you own it! Yeah I want to be like you too! In the young age, I could work for a company
and then when I have enough experience I think I will start my own business. Oh that’s a good idea! But right now, I don’t know what I want to do! Well you’ll figure it out! Just start doing any job that is interesting to you, and then from there opportunities will open up! Oh! So thank you for your time. You’re welcome, thank you for interviewing me! Nice to meet you! What is your name again? My name is ???? (I could not understand the name) Win Quang Vinh? Yeah. *Laughing because that’s
clearly not how to pronouce his name* Well, nice to meet you and thank you. Thank you! So that was the interview. I think this National Economics University student
asked very good and important questions. I think that all teens, whether they are practicing their English in Vietnam or whether they live in America, should ask professionals these questions. So that they can get a better idea of what kind of job they are looking for when they graduate. What did you think of the topics
that we talked about in this video? Do you like working alone and solo
or do you like working with a team? Do you prefer creative jobs
or do you prefer high salary jobs? Let me know in the comments below! If you like this video please give it a big thumbs up,
and subscribe for travel related videos every week! Alright everyone in my traveler family
happy traveling and I’ll see you next time! Bye!
